1.0 out of 5 stars Misleading Titles Can Be Very Aggravating, October 16, 2001

This review is from: How to Start & Manage a Welding Business (Paperback)
Occasionally I run into a book that is so obviously fabricated completely from "Boilerplate" that I get almost angry. This is one of these books. The formula for this book is simple; Take a basic text on how to start a small business and substitute the word "Welding" for "Small" in your word processor. There is no mention of what tools one will need for a small welding business, or what amperage range of portable welder you will need. The tone and language used in this book are NOT directed at the kind of person who would start a Welding Business. There is no mention of safety devices and fire extinguishers, and the only mention of actual welding related subjects is a page with some addresses. No mention of suppliers or knowledge bases.
I can sum this book up in two words: Blatant Opportunism. It is the worst kind of false pretense, and I would advise against anyone buying it. For the same monies, you can buy an excellent textbook on Small Business Management and get the same amount of Welding Business information: None.
