The book is well written and laid out well. It is fairly easy to follow and understand. However, I have significant business experience and personally found the information a little too basic. This book does give a good general overview of running a business, but lacks depth.

I already had an earlier version of this book, and chose to buy the upgraded version on the Kindle. I originally got this book as a required text book in college (art school). It's very straight forward and easy to understand (even for an artist mind), and flexible enough to be applied to any business type. If you need a great thorough starter guide, this is the one. I used this as my jumping off reference point, then expanded my needs to other books as necessary.

4.0 out of 5 stars A daily reference for my business, June 19, 2008
By
Without any business experience,I started a business from scratch in 1990. I bought one of these books at that time. I have built it to a $2m company since then. This book helped me a lot when it came to understanding the ratios and the things the bank wanted. The personnel section was helpful. There is a wealth of info in this book about a wide range of business subjects. Yes, it's a bit elementary at times, but often that's what a new business owner needs.
