I read this book back in the 1980's when I was a young wife, and mother of 4 young children, living with an alchoholic husband. It saved my sanity, and ultimately helped save my marriage. I learned that my alcoholic's problems were his, and not my fault. I learned how to cope, and when to get out. I can't wait to re-read it and send it to my daughter who is married to an alcoholic. JUST BECAUSE SOMEONE SUFFERS FROM ALCOHOLISM DOESN'T MEAN THEY CAN'T BE LOVED.
