5.0 out of 5 stars Life Changing
I have read several books by Joyce Meyer, and all of them were helpful to me. But if you are looking to learn how to be more confident in Jesus Christ, and to learn how to just "be yourself" without worrying about what everyone else thinks, then this book will be wonderful for you. Now that I've read it, I feel okay to allow God to transform me into His own...

2.0 out of 5 stars fair-not great
I was a bit disappointed in this book as it is just a repeat of so many of her other books. I guess if this is the first book by her you read it is ok, but I have still read much better. Borrow it and read someone else's--or just skip it altogether.

5.0 out of 5 stars Life Changing, September 2, 1999
By A Customer
I have read several books by Joyce Meyer, and all of them were helpful to me. But if you are looking to learn how to be more confident in Jesus Christ, and to learn how to just "be yourself" without worrying about what everyone else thinks, then this book will be wonderful for you. Now that I've read it, I feel okay to allow God to transform me into His own new creation. One of the key principles in this book is to trust that God is changing you into a better person day by day, even when it doesn't actually feel like it. The book is also good at adressing feelings of insecurity and inferiority.

So if this sounds good, then get the book quickly. It is definitely worth it.

God Bless <>x

5.0 out of 5 stars Very helpful to me, December 28, 1999
This book was very informative and helpful. Joyce gives examples that are easy to understand and, since she used to be insecure herself, she is not just preaching, but telling about the things she did to help her overcome her insecurities. Being in high school, I have always wanted to be like everyone else. If they did something that I wasn't good at, I'd get jealous and try to copy them, failing and thinking I was no good at anything. One of the points Joyce made that helped me is that God gave everyone their own unique gifts and talents. Each person can do something different with their talents, and one person is not good at everything. This book has helped me accept the fact that I'm not perfect, and to try to focus on what I'm good at. I would recommend this book to anyone. It really helps you build confidence and helps you discover your own unique gifts and talents! :)

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must for any Chrstian Woman!, May 3, 2000
I have enjoyed several of Joyce Meyer's earlier works, but this one really struck a chord with me. I have always had a hard time seeing myself as God sees me, but this book has given me a real boost. Get this book if you have ever struggled with doubt, fear, anxiety, low self-esteem, or a lack of confidence. Joyce tells you how to trust in God, step out in faith, and fulfill your God-given destiny!

5.0 out of 5 stars Need help understanding God's grace?, October 24, 2003
This review is from: How to Succeed at Being Yourself: Finding the Confidence to Fulfill Your Destiny (Hardcover)
Once I became a Christian, I was under the impression that you had to start acting a different way and you had to be something you were not in order to please God. I also had no understanding of God's grace and mercy for me and Joyce Meyer's book explains this so thoroughly and wonderfully! In her book, you begin to see that God created you just as you are and He accepts you just as you are--warts and all. There is no need to act any differently, He wants to use you just like you are to reach out to the hurting and lost that He has placed around you. He wants us to stop comparing ourselves with other Christians; stop using other people as a means of measuring how holy you are or aren't. I always had a struggle of understanding God's grace but with the help of this book and with God's help, it has finally clicked for me. I hope it will do the same for you because it really is as simple as it sounds...through our faith in Christ, God sees us as righteous and accepts us and loves us just as we are! Wow! What a wonderful gift! I highly recommend this book and believe it will be a tremendous blessing!

5.0 out of 5 stars Another milestone in my spiritual walk, March 29, 2005
This review is from: How to Succeed at Being Yourself: Finding the Confidence to Fulfill Your Destiny (Hardcover)
I must say that in conjunction with Purpose Driven Life, Joyce's books have turned my life around. Joyce gave me the tools to drop all of the bitterness and self- doubt that had been plaguing me and keeping me from working towards the ministry God called me for.

This book has been a "true gem" as an earlier review stated. Joyce pushes farther into the "just believe in yourself" mantra and illustrates how the key to succeeding in life is to trust in God, and all things will be given unto you.

"Confidence is faith in God." So true- and a wonderful eye opener for me.

In my own life, I've been called to ministry and I've feel ignorant and ill- equipped to serve others due to my lack of knowledge of scripture. Joyce points out that God wants us to come on faith and that He'll perfect us through His work and not our own. Our stepping out "before we feel truly ready" ensures that we'll lean more fully on God and recognize His work in creating who we are.

I can now approach my own ministry with confidence thanks to the words spoken through Joyce's anointed gift.

Once again, I've been moved to tears by one of Joyce's books. And I thank God for her and I am grateful that she plugged on and answered the call.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Daily Companion, April 18, 2006
This review is from: How to Succeed at Being Yourself: Finding the Confidence to Fulfill Your Destiny (Hardcover)
I was lead to buy this book with no initial intention to buy anything! I was going through a personal crisis but wouldn't have thought of buying a book with this title. Nonetheless I just felt I should, so I did. It became the second best thing to the Bible for me. I can't believe how much I gained.. I normally get bored halfway through any book and end up putting it down. Not this one. I've underlined so much I think I've covered half the book in my pen! It's like I need it just to keep my mind in the right direction, my thoughts where they should be, and to give me what I need to face the day with strength! It honestly gives me the tools for confidence I haven't found in any other book. I treasure this one.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Book, October 14, 2002

This book has truly been a blessing. In a clear, practical and inspirational style that is chararacteristically Joyce Meyer, it presents Biblical truths regarding self image, self acceptance and confidence. If you are lacking in any of these areas, or if you're simply looking to live more abundantly and truly understand and experience the love of God, I highly recommend this book. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 is because I think that with this type of subject, self-reflective questions/exercises would have been helpful. In general though, great book!

5.0 out of 5 stars A total inspiration!, December 12, 2001
This books has been a total inspiration to me!!! Every page I read can be carried into my life right at that moment. I have been going through a rough time in my life right now that has zapped away my confidence and this book has really helped me forgive myself and those that have recently hurt me. Plus the scriptures that are quoted throughout the book have helped me understand the Bible much more clearly.

Joyce Meyer truly is an angel for writing this book and for that I thank her!

5.0 out of 5 stars A great book to read., October 18, 2001

This is the second book by Joyce Meyer that I have read. It was as helpful to me as the first one was. Joyce's writing is very easy to understand. When some people write, it is very hard for the reader to follow along. Joyce is not like that. I think you will find this book as helpful to you as I did.
