This review is from: How to Succeed in Life: Ideas and Principles They Don't Teach in School (Paperback)
How to Succeed in Life is simply the BEST Success book I have ever read. In an easy to read manner you give the reader the best success secrets around!!

I also recommend your book along with the other best SUCCESS book I have ever read: 21 Days Countdown to Success by Chris Witting: Take charge of your life in less than a month. This book which complements your book is a hand-on interactive workbook on applying the best success secrets to improve one's life in the shortest time possible.

Your book is a compilation and concise distilling of the world's best secrets to success and happiness. Your book is a treasure chest of priceless gems of timeless wisdom in an easy to read format. The invaluable quotes on success and happiness from famous and not so famous people through history, that reinforce and support your commentary, is worth the price of the book alone.

I have been searching for many years for a book like yours. I will treasure it always and refer to it often and recommend it to everyone I meet. I have read hundreds of books and listened to many audiotapes on self-help, self-improvement, success, motivation and inspiration and because your book has the best parts of all that wisdom, I would give up all them and cherish and treasure your book as being the best of all!!! Thank you!!!

I have bought 10 copies and given them away to all my family and friends as gifts from the heart.

I believe that every person should read your book and could benefit immensely from applying it to and significantly improving their lives to be full of success and happiness. This book should be in every school and library in the nation, so that it could be made available to the largest number of readers possible!

Thank you for sharing your collection of wisdom to the world and contributing to the best in success, self-help, inspirational and motivational literature.

4.0 out of 5 stars Helpful Practical Advice, June 24, 2003
By
This review is from: How to Succeed in Life: Ideas and Principles They Don't Teach in School (Paperback)
Grossman reminds his readers of the basic principles of success that can be immediately applied for direct positive results. He couples that with insightful analysis, such as his thoughts on opportunity which he says "will not be labeled 'opportunity.' It will be hidden. You've got to find it" (p. 35). The book is filled with motivational quotes from myriad sources. A lot of the principles he includes are from the Bible. Take for example his admonition on creating your best self. He calls it the law of self-determination and says, "you are now and you will become what you think about" (p. 116). This is from the book of Proverbs. From the New Testament he teaches what he calls the law of compensation and reminds us "as ye sow, so shall ye reap" (p. 116).
Books like this one help a person to stay focused on the way life really works. Near the end of the book, he sums this up by noting "self-esteem is truly a self fulfilling prophecy" (p. 197). This book could do a lot of good for a lot of people if its principles were applied.

5.0 out of 5 stars Success, January 21, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: How to Succeed in Life: Ideas and Principles They Don't Teach in School (Paperback)
I picked this book up after reading the title thinking the author was being very arrogant thinking he had all the answers but after reading just a few words I realized what an incredible book it really was. I have read my copy several times and pick it up when I start to get discouraged. I have also bought copies for all my friends and kids as I think it is was that important. It puts into words all the values your parents tried to instill in you when you were groing up. Great book!

5.0 out of 5 stars Parents need to read then give to the kids., November 4, 2007
This review is from: How to Succeed in Life: Ideas and Principles They Don't Teach in School (Paperback)
We all want the best for our kids. But sometimes we think we know what's best and don't listen to what our kids want. This book changed the way I looked at my success and what my daughter viewed as success. It showed me I have to give her guidance, a good foundation and hopefully she will make great choices in life. I bought three copies of this book. One for me, one for my daughter, and one for my younger cousin.

5.0 out of 5 stars Things I wish I would've known a long time ago, April 19, 2006

This review is from: How to Succeed in Life: Ideas and Principles They Don't Teach in School (Paperback)
This book is beyond excellent for those that have struggled in life and have tried to understand many of the roots of their problems. I'm 31 and I wish I would've had a book like this in my early 20's. It would've given me the courage to do things back then that I'm doing later on.

If you loved this book another great book is Life's Greatest Lessons: 20 Things That Matter by Hal Urban. Orginally titled 20 Things I Want My Kids To Know, it was originally published in 1992 and is now in the Fourth Edition, and it won Best Self-Published Inspirational Book of the Year 2000 by Writer's Digest Magazine.

It also was written for his children and other people of all ages. It talks about the wisdom of the ages and other life lessons and truths we do not learn in school about how life works and character education for kids, teachers and parents.

It is sure to be a classic that will enrich everyone's life and should be in every home.

J. R. Parrish went from high school, to milkman, to a Fortune 500 company's number-one salesman in America. Against the odds, the Silicon Valley commercial real estate firm he founded grew to be one of the two premier firms in that market. He retired at age fifty-five on the Big Island in Hawaii. In this easy-to-understand, power-packed book, J.R. reveals the lessons he was taught by his mentors, and those he learned on his own, about finance, business, marriage, career, school, friendships, dating, family, health, thinking, habits, and most importantly, how to deal effectively with others.

Reading this book gives you the opportunity to learn the best way to deal with many of life's most important situations before you have to experience them.

It is a constant life companion that you will refer to again and each chapter has a Lesson in a Nutshell summary of important points and A Few Profound Thought inspirational quotations for quick and easy review and reference.
