4.0 out of 5 stars Cliche or not cliche...I don't have a question, November 22, 1999

"Few men have virtue to withstand the highest bidder." George Washington quoted in Hy Brett's new book. With the elections and the millenium staring us in the face...this was my favorite quote. I loved the book.

HyBrett and Alma have put together a book of smiles for any heart. A small example here would be a quote from Beranger, I'd long forgotten: "Paradise is open to all kind hearts"

5.0 out of 5 stars How to survive the new millennium? There's wisdom here., November 10, 1999

This review is from: How to Survive the New Millennium: Recycled Wisdom for an Age of Diminished Expectations (Hardcover)
Everyone talks about surviving the new millennium but Hy Brett gives us the wisdom and the sayings of those who lived in this one to fall back on and remember. Everything from 'aardvark' to 'zygotes' is included in this fun book and you'll find yourself marking the quotations that make you laugh, think, or recall a moment in your own personal millennium history. It's a great book for holiday giving!

And for those who say that the new millennium doesn't begin until 2001 -- how lucky for you! You've got an extra year to relish this book.
