1.0 out of 5 stars Eck will spirtually KILL YOU, STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I warn you with all my heart to stay away from Eckankar it is truly a religion of the deepest evil for it engages in true deception which is good mixed with evil. The entire foundational doctorine of Eckankar is deceptive. I was once an Eckist and was awakened by the Spirit to its lies. It will lead you to a true hell where bad is good and good is bad and you will end...

What is the capacity for your love? This question among many is asked and answered in this collection of true stories reflecting the spiritual light in people all over the world. Extraordinary experiences are shared validating the small miracles and gifts from God that happen in our everyday lives. "How To Survive Spiritually in Our Times", offers spiritual help to people in need in every part of society, worldwide. The author, Harold Klemp suggests that upliftment depends upon the individual's state of consciousness, and that the window of heaven is what all truth seekers are trying to open. The book also features unadorned precise techniques to help us become more attuned to the presence of Divine Spirit in our lives; as well as gain both spiritual experience, and spiritual freedom. The stories unfold in beautifully written prose, offering universal perspectives to help strengthen, and validate humanity's connection to Divine Spirit. Animal lovers will appreciate that some of the stories demonstrate the intuitive link, and love, animals bring to mankind. The content of this book is timely and much needed. Read it leisurely, allow its words and images to re-ignite your belief in the power of Divine Love. Then read it again, and again, for it is filled with spiritual sustenance.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book, June 28, 2009

Maintaining a spiritual viewpoint during these times can be difficult. Sometimes, just the every day quest for survival takes up all our attention.

Harold Klemp gives real world examples of people struggling just like us to learn the secrets of life. He tells us how to apply basic spiritual principles in our life to live more fully and more aware.

One chapter that I particularly enjoyed is called "God is Love". Everyone says this, but how many of us live it day to day? Klemp gives great examples and suggestions throughout the chapter.

I enjoyed this book immensely and would recommend it to all spiritual seekers.

5.0 out of 5 stars UPLIFTING, SPIRITUALLY AWESOME BOOK, January 28, 2008
This review is from: How to Survive Spiritually in Our Times (Paperback)
This book is from talks given by Sri Harold Klemp, the spiritual leader of Eckankar. It contains some very deep insights about the spiritual life of a seeker. Eckankar is known as the Religion of the Light & Sound of God.

I found this book to be very uplifting. It has many stories to help the seeker find deeper answers to the problems of life. It also has a number of different spiritual exercises that anyone can try.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants deeper answers to questions about life.

Regards.. Bill

5.0 out of 5 stars I may never finish this marvelous book, December 18, 2007

This review is from: How to Survive Spiritually in Our Times (Paperback)
. . . because every time I open it, there is something new. Harold Klemp uses simple and touching stories to illustrate deep spiritual points. At the heart of it all is soul's quest to discover ever more divine love in itself and to experience life through the lens of this divine love.

Klemp is neither conservative nor liberal; in fact those terms seem not to interest him at all. Nor does he focus on fearing the future. Instead he focuses on living fully in the now. Love supersedes fear is a repeated theme.

Klemp isn't telling us what to think or believe. He simply describes the laws of life as he has come to understand them through lifetimes of spiritual discipline. He then invites us to test these laws out for ourselves, just as most of us tested the law of gravity when learning to walk. What fits we can use to help us stay in balance. What doesn't fit, well put it aside for now.

Yes, Klemp is unflinching on questions of self-responsibility: each of us must assume responsibility for every thought, word and deed that we generate. Hence his respect for some of Mayberry's work.

But equally this sense of self-responsibiilty leads us to to recognize the sacredness of all life and all life forms, and to walk in humility upon the earth. It leads us to look for the connections between our attitudes, diets, lifestyles, etc. and our health.

Most important, when a challenge comes at us, instead of complaining we may ask what have I done to create this situation, how can I end the pattern if I wish to and meantime what can it teach me?

Klemp shares many stories of people who live life from this perspective and the insights and blessings that they have received.

For example, there is a story of an African man whose daughter died due to medical negligence. Something holds the man back from striking out at the nurse and doctor who helped to cause her death. Later on at home, a dream shows him that a cycle was completed with his daughter's death. Had he struck out, the pattern would have continued, with more hatred and more deaths in the future. He still grieves for hs daughter, but alongside the grief a sense of peace and liberation begins to fill his heart.

In a similar way each of our experiences in life carries within it spiritual lessons and spiritual blessings both large and small. Will we be conscious of what each experience is trying to teach us? We can be, if we open our hearts.

This is true regardless of what faith we enter in the "religion" box of survey forms and the like. All of us are linked by the fact that we are souls, and God loves us unconditionally.

That is the heart of Klemp's message and I for one never tire of it. In these turbulent times, we can do more than survive. We can thrive.

1.0 out of 5 stars Eck will spirtually KILL YOU, STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, September 8, 2006
This review is from: How to Survive Spiritually in Our Times (Paperback)
I warn you with all my heart to stay away from Eckankar it is truly a religion of the deepest evil for it engages in true deception which is good mixed with evil. The entire foundational doctorine of Eckankar is deceptive. I was once an Eckist and was awakened by the Spirit to its lies. It will lead you to a true hell where bad is good and good is bad and you will end up with a smile on your face while you are being stabbed in the back by Satan wrapped in Eckankar clothing and you will say it was of the light that you passed, furthermore Satsn leads men and women down to the depths of hell rhrough flaxen cord that is initially soft to the touch and thought until it is bound around the neck and becomes a chain that pulls the victim into his serpent cluches and squeezes the very spiritual life out of their precious soul and can only be redeemed by a Savior. Please do not read Eck material it is so harmful, I warn you with all my might no matter how good it sounds do not take the candy from the stranger for his plans are dark and evil. I know people will disagree with what I have said and to them I urge to reevaluate their beliefs, to search the internet, common sense, and their heart extensively and the truth will be revealed. Eckankar is a wolf in sheeps clothing and has no love for you or you eternal welfare. I honor and respect your free agency and I know I am but a man and that I am flawed and that I make mistakes every day, but I have been there and I implore you with all the love of my heart to stay away from the black widow that is Eckankar it will literally kill you and leave you with nothing.

1.0 out of 5 stars Paul Harvey Must Be An Eck Master, January 25, 2004
By A Customer

This review is from: How to Survive Spiritually in Our Times (Paperback)
Harold Klemp seems to love Paul Harvey in this book. Klemp is ultra conservative and also holds the fear monger Richard Maybury in high esteem as well. Klemp espouses his anti social security, anti welfare, anti Medicare/Medicad, anti lawsuit, anti investiment attitudes. One wonders why? Without lawsuits medical mistakes would be the number 1 killer in this country instead of number 8. There are no criminal laws protecting the public from medical mistakes! Klemp, of course, has great health care, great retirement, and a big guaranteed income. Parts of this book was difficult for me to read (the narrow minded views) when I was a loyal High Initiate, but now I see it as a bunch of dogma with empty promises. Let's face it, why would Masters have a hierarchy? I guess that spiritual freedom, Soul=Soul, and Self Mastery (along with initiations) are just carrots to be forever dangled. Just keep in mind service and silence while renewing that yearly membership, and keep hoping that OZ (Klemp)won't reveal his true idenity. Twitchell's illusion lives on!
