This review is from: How to Survive Your Bipolar Brain: And Stay Functional (Paperback)
I have been dealing with and trying to help bipolar people for decades in my ministry work - and have found so much good guidance and information in Bob Bradley's book. It is a great book for thoise wishing to help bipolar people and an excellent book for those inflected with this disorder. It makes it a simple process to understand and recognize the situations and needs. The author does a great job of eduating and advising the reader. This is one of those books that you should have around if you are bipolar or have to live or work with one. It gives you some tools to handle the situation. The key is knowledge and understanding. It is a well written book.

This book is extremely expensive I would recomend getting it at a library. But Owning it would be wonderful. As a mother of a bipolar child, the daughter of a bipolar father, a sister of a bipolar sibling, and the grandchild and neice of 2 bipolar uncles this is a wonderful book. It gave meet great understanding of the bipolar brain. This is book is wonderful I could not reiterate the importance of understanding the bipolar brain. If you are recently diagnosed bi-polar I or II, this book will help you identify behaviors that could signal a manic or depressive episode, as well as giving you specific actions to take to avoid escalations or downward spirals. I especially liked the practical way the author explained the things that can be done to manage the disorder~ even when compliant with meds and counseling, there's still the day to day world, and this book gives you a real world action plan. Another thing I liked about this book is that the author knows what he's talking about and he doesn't mince words. Acceptance of self is a huge factor with the disorder, and being understood by someone who lives with it is a huge step toward that goal. This is a great companion book to any education about bi-polar disorder and I highly recommend it.
