As you read through this book, youll see that we all struggle with the same questions: How do men and women communicate? Should we have separate or joint checking accounts? Why does he always leave the seat up, and why does she care? Why are the in-laws so hard to deal with? Who takes out the trash and who does the laundry? How do you make time for romance in your hectic life? Youll also gain the invaluable knowledge gleaned from people all over the country, of various ages and marital experience, who have developed their own strategies for long-term compatibility.
With so many stories to read and so much to learn, you cant lose. Being married is one of the most difficult things you can do: It will test the limits of your compassion, your ability to compromise and communicate, your parenting style, your very sense of self. But, of course, marriage is also one of lifes most rewarding journeys. Our advice: Dont go it alone.

Save Your Marriage,
By Jay Dalton (New York) - See all my reviews
This review is from: How to Survive Your Marriage: by Hundreds of Happy Couples Who Did and Some Things to Avoid, From a Few Ex-Spouses who Didn't (Hundreds of Heads Survival Guides) (Paperback)
Having been married for over sixteen years, How to Survive Your Marriage is a great primer for newlyweds and is also entertaining for those of us that have been married longer. I wish I had had a copy in the first few years of marriage because it is a terrific problem solver. It wouldn't surprise me if the divorce rate went down in places that had big sales of the book! I highly recommend it.

After reading so many expert guides on marriage, this one was truly refreshing. Filled with advice from ordinary people. Crazy stories. Fun stories. Touching stories. On all phases of marriage. I read some to my wife. She read some to me. We had some of the best conversations from this. Highly recommend for all marriage couples, young or old.

My Marriage won't be the same since I read this book!,

This review is from: How to Survive Your Marriage: by Hundreds of Happy Couples Who Did and Some Things to Avoid, From a Few Ex-Spouses who Didn't (Hundreds of Heads Survival Guides) (Paperback)
This really is a fabulous resource for couples. My husband and I have been married nearly 20 years and we both learned and laughed a lot while reading this book. It is clearly a great read for newly weds and old folks like us!The well thought out range of topics, very specific details and the broad spectrum of opinions is what makes it so great. It is the opposite of boring or lecture like because of the fun way it is written and layed out. We already bought it for two friends of ours and as a gift for a newly marriage couple. Much cheaper than marriage counseling! And a GREAT GIFT IDEA! I also recommend the other books in this Hundreds of Heads series, on dating and babyhood. Can't wait for more!
