I bought this cd based on a review in my local paper, and I was not disappointed. I am only a moderate Charlie Daniels fan(I don't have any of his other records), but I am very happy with this cd! It is full of well done Christian classics with a country flair. The backing instrumentation is tight, as befits a band that has played together for so long, but what impressed me most is Charlie's vocals. He is not a great singer, but what he lacks in finesse he more than makes up in sincerity. It sounds as if he means what he sings 100%, unlike many country singers who throw in a gospel song just to appease their fans. Anyway this is a great album!

I have had this CD for two days. It is better than expected. It is not just Charlie singing some old gospel tunes. The songs are completely arranged, and the music is great. This CD has some of the best fiddle playing ever done, and most of the songs are lively and upbeat. If you like Charlie Daniels and the Lord, this CD is for you.

I recommend this CD set to anyone who loves God and country music. I can't get enough of Charlie Daniels soulful style of music that lifts your spirit and makes you feel closer to our Lord. You won't regret buying this at all!

As always with Charlie Daniels, he gives his listeners a wide variety of flavors on this wonderful album. There is not one song here that doesn't sound good and real. He gives us everything from his classic southern rock to bluegrass, blues to country, and always sounds sincere. Daniels is a great Christian man and this album will become an instant favorite when you are in need of true inspiration. My favorite tracks are "Softly and Tenderly," "I'll Fly Away," "Somebody Was Prayin' For Me," and "Kneel At The Cross."

I loved this CD,except for Amazing Grace,it was not very good,but every thing else was great!

Not only does this set come with over 20 new songs from the Charlie Daniels Band, but it is very innovative. Some of these hymns are presented as blues, others as country, others as rock, and one has a Carribean influence. Charlie recorded the whole thing with his band in the studio as he's been doing since Blues Hat, so the music has none of the pop country or Christian contemporary sound coming from Nashville these days. One of my favorites so far is "I Am Thine," a great old hymn with the signature CDB sound. It's obvious the band put a lot of hard work into making this album, and if you're a fan of the CDB you're going to miss out if you don't buy it.

It contains two previously released songs from different Sparrow Record collections, and one from Steel Witness with the Fairfield Four. That's 22 BRAND NEW songs from the CDB! Get this album!

I grew up listening to CDB and it was about Southern Rock and I mean fiddle. This collection of Hymns is just great. He does such a wonderful job with all the songs and he puts his own stamp on them. "The Devil went down to Georgia" and he didnt find a sole to keep, he found Jesus!

He has always liked country music and is a fan of Charlie Daniels in general, but I had a feeling that he would love this classic gospel set!
I listened to parts of it when we went on a trip to the beach with them last weekend, it was very good!!

This is a really wonderful, awesome Gospel CD. As my grandson puts it, NO ONE can make gospel music sound like Charlie does!

This is a great cd by the Charlie Daniels Band, containing 25 favorite hymns & gospel classics, performed CDB "Southern Rock" Style. I saw the Charlie Daniels Band (CDB) perform live in concert this year. During this concert Charlie gives testimony of his Lord & Saviour Jesus Christ, and then he sung "How Great Thou Art", which is included in this 2 disc cd. Charlie dedicates this 2 disc cd to "the honor and glory of Almighty God". This is not just Charlie, its him and his band, plus there are backing vocals by the Bobby Jones Super Chior, & others.
