Book Description

May 1922 Lifeskills for Men
For many men, life delivers far more occasions for stress and busyness than opportunities for personal care and relaxation. But a man's body, soul, and spirit can deteriorate quickly if he isn't adequately nourished.

Are you experiencing a general decline in health? Do you labor with toxic anger, frequent fatigue, or crippling anxiety? You may fear the worst about unidentified yet persistent symptoms. With helpful and straightforward advice, How a Man Takes Care of Himself guides you into a practical understanding of a healthy lifestyle that can be tailored to fit you individually. You'll learn ways to rebuild or maintain physical, emotional, and spiritual health, including:

manageable ideas for rest and relaxation

realistic goals for exercise

reasonable suggestions for restructuring your diet

well-grounded insight for times of quiet prayer and biblical meditation

constructive wisdom for maintaining life-building relationships with other men.

JIM HALL became interested in self care when he found himself severely overweight and gasping for life. With degrees in both journalism and nutrition, he is an ordained pastor and has a biblically based natural health and nutrition counseling ministry.

"LIFESKILLS FOR MEN books that direct men to a life of strength, wisdom, spiritual character and practical know-how!"

About the Author

James Hall is a free-lance writer, natural health and nutrition counselor. Hall, who was born in Columbus, Indiana, holds degrees in both journalism and nutrition. He started his newspaper career in the mid-1970s in Greencastle, Indiana, and went on to secure a position with his hometown newspaper, The Shelbyville News, in 1979. During his time with The Shelbyville News, it was twice selected as Indiana's best daily newspaper by the Hoosier State Press Association.

As a professional reporter and editor, Hall won numerous national and state press association writing awards. He has also had many free-lance articles published in a variety of magazines including The Saturday Evening Post and Contemporary Christian Music magazine. During the late 1980s, he was a frequent contributing general interest columnist for the prestigious New York Times News Service.

When health problems forced Hall to leave his full-time newspaper position, he became interested in natural healing modalities. He enrolled in Clayton College which specializes in instruction relating to natural health and nutrition, and earned a Ph.D. degree from that school in 1995.

Hall, an ordained pastor, and his wife Mary, a special education teacher, have a son, Lincoln. They make their home in Indiana.
