Kelley, a California Highway Patrolman for over 26 years, says that many people, mostly because of misunderstandings, will actually TALK THEMSELVES INTO a ticket they might not have otherwise received. He wrote this book to help clarify those misunderstandings so that many drivers may avoid the inconvenience of an unnecessary ticket.

I just became aware that this book is available on Amazon.com and felt compelled to comment about it. I first bought this book about 5 years ago and some time after reading it, I was stopped for going 40 mph in a 25 mph speed area. I followed advice I remembered from the book regarding what to say and what not to say and was let go by the Highway Patrolman. On another occasion, I was not so lucky and received a ticket. (I guess I shouldn't have made a U-turn right in front of a police car). I followed the instructions in this book about "How to win in court" and the judge ruled in my favor. This book is full of advice, tips and inside police information not available from other sources and I highly recommend it. It has certainly made me far less fearful about being stopped by the police.

The author is a California Highway Patrolman with over 26 years experience in writing tickets! Fortunately for us, he has written this book to guide us through the PAINFUL and IRRITATING process of a traffic stop. The 100+ page book is full of useful tips and strategies on what to say and what not to say when you are stopped by the police. "COMMUNICATION IS THE KEY!"--that's the first thing you see when you open the book. It's true--you can talk your way OUT of a ticket, or you can talk your way INTO recieiving one or more tickets. If you are nice to the police officer and aren't giving HIM a hard time, then you usually don't get a ticket. However, when you are a jerk to the cop, which most people are, they almost always will receive a ticket. This book also has a long list of: do's and don't for a traffic stop; a list of excuses NOT to use during a traffic stop; what to do and what not to do during a DUI arrest; info on traffic accidents; legal info su! ch as--can the cops search my car, what rights you have when you are stopped, the procedure for traffic court and how you can WIN in traffic court, etc. This book is chock full of useful information and if you read it, you will have a good chance of TALKING YOUR WAY OUT OF A TRAFFIC TICKET!

Out of 112 pages, only five deal specifically with what to say in order to talk your way out of a ticket, and the rest of the book deals with general common sense explanations of why officers are people too, all the instances where you CAN'T talk your way out of a ticket, and very brief explanations of some courtroom defenses. While the author has good intentions and provides some basic information, this book will NOT show you how to talk your way out of a traffic ticket unless you just have dumb luck. Check out the Internet for better "scripts" and ideas. ...
