5.0 out of 5 stars So Much Valuable Material Was Obtained, September 1, 2009

(REAL NAME)
This review is from: How They Train: Long Distances (Paperback)
"
The first edition of How They Train, originally printed in 1959, listed more than 150 runners and their training patterns, half mile to six miles and up.
The popularity and value of this book was such that we thought a new edition, with some of the current top athletes, was clearly called for.
We have been collecting material and sending out questionnaires for a number of years now.
In fact,
SO MUCH VALUABLE MATERIAL WAS OBTAINED that it was decided to split How They Train - II into three volumes.

Thus, three separate books are now available:
How They Train - Middle Distances,
How They Train - Long Distances,
How They Train - Sprinting and Hurdling......
"
[from the book of the preface to the this edition]
