Excellent book for beginners and the advanced. I borrowed this book because my little one's birthday is coming up and I was thinking of making the cakes this year instead of buying one from the store. I was very surprised at the amount of information and the level of detail in the book. Christine really does a great job explaining techniques from simple to advance. Great information for everyone! I have to say that before I read this book I didn't know too much about cake decorating beyond the competition shows on television. ... this book is the perfect companion guide for me. The book went through cake decorating history, some recipes for the cakes (bonus!), and many tips and tricks of the trade. I felt that the pictures were especially helpful to complement the instructions. I feel like I'm ready to head to the craft store and stock up on supplies and get busy! I would highly recommend this book to anyone, from beginner to advanced, to learn the art of decorating cakes. -- ARK

As someone that didn't know anything about cake decorating I was pleasantly surprised to find this useful book covering the subject in simple terms so us newbies can understand it easily.

The book is laden with great tips throughout and I liked the cake photos included. Gives me something to aim up for.

Hopefully my wife will appreciate my new skills :)

A good basic book for those wanting to start learning how to decorate cakes. Easy to read and follow, written in an appealing style. Lots of good tips for beginners and also includes a few basic recipes for cakes and icings to start you off.
