Well I have to tell you that this is most certainly an interesting little book. As described in the product overview, it is indeed short; short yes, but there is actually quite a lot of good information packed into this one. I downloaded this little book simply because it was free, I rather like fishing and figured I might learn something.

Now it is difficult for me to give this work a balanced review simply because I do not know at what level the fisherman or fisherwomen who plans to use it is at. Do not that this book is written for and directed toward those who have probably never fished a day in their lives; pond, stream, lake or otherwise. That is not bad though...hey, very one has to start somewhere.

The book is broken down into short sections that include:

Pond Fishing Basics
Things you will need
Panfish
Panfish lures
Panfish rigs
Panfish lure color selection
Techniques
Best times of the day to fish

and

Resources.

Now keep in mind that I am and have been over the past 60 or more years, a fishing snob of sorts. I fish for trout and only trout...sort of. The only pond fishing I have done and do is using a very light fly and sponge spiders I tie myself. I fish for panfish and strictly do the catch and release thing. Most of my hooks do not even have barbs on them. Those fish that are injured in the catching process and will not survive the release process are taken home, frozen and I use the fish the next spring when I plant my tomatoes...burry a fish under each plant...tomatoes love it and the fish is not wasted.

Ah, but I found myself in a situation where I had to teach a bunch of very small children the art of fishing; pond fishing to be exact.

I do most of my fishing on ponds and smaller lakes. This book is a real gem. Has info on what to use and how to find the best spots to fish. Easy to read and gives you an opportunity to use what you learn quickly.

Good overview on pond fishing. Nothing really new but good basic information. Good book to keep for reviewing reference. Thanks.

Book is too short! It reads like an article. Good info on tackle but not much on substance or details
