Book Description

How To Get Divorced: A Quick Start Guide to an Easier Divorce in California will lead you to the best path for your case, explain your goals and very specific steps you can take to reach them. It will save you a lot of time, trouble and money and leave you better able to move forward with your life.

After 40 years and over 45,000 cases, we really do know exactly what steps you can take in any kind of divorce to make things better, smoother, less painful and less expensive. In the Guide you will find the essential core of the advice that made it possible for us to resolve all of those cases successfully without going to court.

The Guide is packed with links to free articles with important tips and advice about things you can do and links to tools that will help you do them.

The things you can do yourself are far superior to anything an attorney can do for you. The Guide shows you how to solve problems without retaining an attorney, when and how to use an attorney in a limited capacity, and how to choose the right attorney if you want one.

In addition to telling you how to get divorced in California, this Guide explains how you can learn about California divorce law, and how you can fill out your own California divorce forms. It explains how to create your own settlement agreement, and how to calculate California’s guideline amount for child support or spousal support.

The author, divorce attorney Ed Sherman, has sold over a million books that have saved couples Billions of dollars in unnecessary attorney fees. His proven advice can make your divorce and your life better, too.

5.0 out of 5 stars PLEASE read this book BEFORE you lawyer up!!!!!! September 23, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
As an experienced divorce attorney who knows things that you don't, take my warning seriously. DO NOT HIRE SEPARATE DIVORCE LAWYERS WITHOUT READING THIS FIRST!!!! In fact, you need to read this book AND Ed Sherman's Make Any Divorce Better

Make Any Divorce Better!: Specific Steps to Make Things Smoother, Faster, Less Painful and Save You a Lot of Money [With CDROM] [MAKE ANY DIVORC -OS]

Unfortunately there are way too many divorce lawyers who are financially motivated to keep your case going just so they can line their pockets at YOUR expense. Don't fall for their tricks (like giving you unrealistic expectations so that you will refuse a reasonable offer so the case goes on longer and they can bill you more).

Ed Sherman is THE TOP divorce expert in California. He wants to HELP you not fleece you. If there is any way the two of you can work together, do it. Cut the lawyers out of the deal completely and be fair with each other. The law is not complicated. Most couples don't need separate lawyers if they are both honest and share all the information about property and values. If you have kids you need to be able to raise them without killing each other. After fighting in court you will NEVER be able to comfortably raise the kids. For the price of a couple of books, you can save your kids from being caught in the middle of a nasty divorce like I was. You can save a TON of money (the average CA divorce when both sides have lawyers is $20,000 EACH!) Buy these books, read what Ed says and think before you act!

The forms that it says are there are actually links to where he'll sell you some, the other 'how to's' are actually also links but to software that he sells that will do whatever that step in the process is... Example: Do you need to track support orders and payments? Yep there is a link to a software he has for that. Do you need to write just the MSA? There is a $24.95 software for that too! Amazing there was little to no actual information that wasn't just common sense (turn the other cheek and rise above the petty for your kids sake), no laws, no rules, no guidelines in other words WORTHLESS.
