I'm into photography for number of years. I was told to check this book out. I think this can be a good guide for beginners especially the sections on exposure and noise and contrast. You can have a lot of trouble editing pictures if you don't understand the basic principles. Good book!

I was underwhelmed. There were 1 or 2 good tips. But most of the stuff I already knew and I am a novice at editing pictures.

From the very basics to moderate difficult adjustments, author is offering the most simple ways how to enhance your photos using whatever you have.

You get to be shown how to cut in windows paint, how to make colour adjustments and how to use filters and gradients for quick enhancement of landcape in photoshop or how to create lomo effect among others.

While the trully advanced user might find the information repetitive, if you are only starting or have a little to medium experience this book is a viable option to improve your skills

I am a blogger always looking to add more pictures to my site. The trouble is, I want to have unique photos to display but buying stock photos can get pricey. In my search for a solution to this problem I bought this guide. It was a great combination of basic tips as well as advanced tactics I can start using today. I was particularly excited to see how to make motion blur photos and use selective coloring. The pics that demonstrates these techniques in this guide are awesome and I'm already thinking of ways to use them in my pics on my blog. Highly recommended and worth the investment.

Some good ideas in this ebook. Personally I need more assistance and would prefer videos than an ebook. But good for people who have skills.

This book is garbage. It explains very little about the tips, where to find things, or even best practices. It makes no assumption about what program you use and references MS paint and photoshop...pretty useless when you consider that a person who doesn't have photoshop isn't likely to buy it if they are considering using MS paint to edit photos with. Stick to one program or another...this piecemeal method to approaching explaining photo editing is garbage...totally useless. I wish I could get my money back....even if it is only 3 dollars.

I have a website and have chosen to license all of my pictures for that purpose. I have seen the menus and choices on the photo editing programs and have never been able to figure out how to use them effectively. This book is a big help. Maybe now I can actually use some pictures of my own on my website and in my books.

After reading the prior book in this series, "How To Take Better Photos: Your Guide To Taking Better Pictures From Any Camera", I have improved my skills as a digital photographer. I have even had a few photos accepted by a stock photography site. Many are rejected, however, for technical reasons such as artifacts or noise in the photo which this book discusses. "How To Improve Pictures" picks up where the other book left off - what to do with your photos after you've uploaded them to your computer. Enhance them! Beyond just cropping and resizing, the book delves into the details of using a variety of software packages such as Photoshop and PicSay Pro to take your digital photography to the next level. Before reading this book, I was completely unaware of layering and HDR (High Dynamic Range) and how they can be used to enhance a picture. Both will be very helpful based on how their use is described, including the images showing the changes due to these techniques. One caveat, this book is an overview, and not a substitute for a book specifically about a software application that one might be using, but it is a great introduction.
