First, let me say that I am an avid supporter of anyone writing a book, publishing it
and selling two million copies in the first year. BUT, first the content needs to match the
the title. An author needs to put something in the book that draws the reader's interest, and if it's
a self-help book, even "How to Look Expensive", it should have some depth of material that
assures the reader they are getting something for their efforts of purchasing and reading it.
I'm sorry to say this book delivered nothing of interest to me. I read
through it with with hope of interest, but half way through I was bored, and could not find any
tips that would lead me to the world of looking expensive. I'm likely older than the author,
Emma "Couture", but I have always loved clothing, looking rich,
and keeping myself well educated in the art of being fit and looking my best. If Ms. Couture does not
like shopping, then she may be missing important tips by not taking time to do what I call "shop-looking".

My favorite book on the subject was written in 1982, so today, it may be a bit outdated,
but the concepts are holding their own very well. It has been my style bible for
decades. It's called 'Dressing Rich' by Leah Feldon. Likely it's out
of print, but I was able to snag a copy after mine was not returned. Ms. Feldon writes
in depth on style, color, fabrics and accessories...OK, so she talks about
Nancy Regan's hairstyle, and styles of that decade, but you get the idea. In the back of this wonderful book, you
find a summary of what a rich woman projects to the world. A very graciously written
book, worthy even today.

Sorry Ms Couture, but I wasted my time and money.

Guess I was looking for a magic formula. Just felt it was repetitive & it sort- of drugged alone.
However, with that said, I did enjoy it.
No, I would not buy it again. For someone who has not read as many of these types of books
As I have, it could be informational!

This book had lots of good information in it. It really wasn't just about looking expensive. It was more about finding the right clothes which will ,in turn, make you look expensive. Overall, this is a good book for those who need to learn the basics for looking good.

Great refresher in thinking about your wardrobe. But this had nothing new to add and really didn't feel it expressed its title.

Most of what's in here is common sense, but it's still a fun read. I didn't really learn anything that I didn't know before. Still, all you have to do is walk through a Wal-Mart to see that there are a lot of people that could benefit from this book!

I first got the sample and just had to buy the book. Very practical, useful info that anyone can adapt to personal need and style. Read in it's entirety in one day and will definitely go through again and highlight tips/points to adopt.

This book contains great pieces of information to be a "top" woman. Some of the suggestions might seem obvious but they aren't, instead are little gems of wisdom! I really found this book to be a very intertaining and informative reading!

Great book for all who are into looking great with out emptying their bank accounts. I loved the illustration of Samson on hair section of the book talking about the "sex appeal of Samson's hair". Great tips and Ideas
