3.0 out of 5 stars Rehashed material but brief and valuable May 6, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Depending on your background, this book could range anywhere from "so what", to "been there, seen that" to "this book changed my life." I agree with the basic premise of the book that goals need to be a) Set, b) SMART, c) Shared, d) Visualized and e) Reviewed. The book describes some techniques for doing all of the above. This is valuable, and in addition, it is a quick read. The book is clearly an introduction by the author to his other informational and consulting services, but with that said, the book itself does not contain much self-promotion by the author. I can recommend it to a wide audience, based on the price, as long as the reader is not expecting any great and fantastic revelations that could not be found in a couple hours of searching Google. In essence the author has done us the favor of curating and summarizing a few dozen Google searches into a coherent text.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic April 28, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Really great book. I got the kindle version and read it on those many sleepless nights. Craig Ballantyne really knows goal setting. As a personal trainer and huge online business success, his latest acquisition is one of my favorite websites - ETR (Early To Rise), he is a man who walks his talk. No-nonsense, down to earth stuff. This book is literally a steal to PRIME members, and to the rest of us, it's still a steal at ninety-nine cents for a kindle edition. HIGHLY recommend.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good book to get you started with setting goals February 25, 2013
By Jack
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
After reading Goal Sticking: How to Go Beyond Goal Setting and Get on the Road to Success, I realized I first needed help with setting goals. I was looking for a good starter book which would simplify the process of goal setting. This book is great for starting up. I am not sure if it is the best; a lot of what you get in the book can be called common sense or found by Googling. But at $0.99, it delivers more than enough vlaue. If it saves you even 1 hour of Googling, you get back your money a few times over!

Having said that, what I really like is the way the content is organized and simplified for someone like me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love it! March 15, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I love this book. I am a big fan of Early To Rise, so I had to pick this up because anything by Craig Ballantyne is amazing. This book is in depth yet easy to read. I love the part about making SMART goals and also the importance of visualization. Craig provides great advice and actionable steps to achieve whatever goal you are striving for. I also picked upThe Ultimate Fat Loss Secret which I love too! My main goal right now is fat loss and I believe this Goal setting book will help me to achieve my fat loss goals as well as any thing else I pursue. So thanks and I highly recommend this book to anyone that wants to reach their goals sooner rather than later.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must read in the goal setting area September 12, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
As the author of Ridiculously easy no B.S. goal setting I know a little bit about goal setting. It's an area of constant study and research. After reading this book I must say that it will definantly help you. What I really liked about the book was that there was a lot of real life examples that I agree with. One example would be Mr. Ballantyne's example about having blinders on like a race horse. Basically the idea is that you must focus on your goals and allow nothing to get in the way.
The acronym SMART was also a great way to remember...Specific,Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and Timely. These are the steps used to get goals and measure progress. Which is very important. In the specific part, the author explains that you must have a clear picture that's specific and has an end point and target. The Measurable part basically states that you must be able to some how measure your success and gauge it to see if you're making progress. Achievable is VERY important. If it's impossible to do something, then you may be wasting your time. I love the detail of this explaination. The R for realistic is great and in my opinion, you must always be realistic with yourself. One funny example of un-realistic would be to marry a millionaire in 6 months. Good luck there. I started laughing like crazy when I read this. The T for Timely was also great. Time tables are important and focus you toward an objective.

There was also a section on refocusing every few months, and going over your goals. The areas are wealth, health, social self, and personal enrichment. I found this book to be very informative, and also a refreshing read. There's also great bonus material goal setting videos. I highly recommend this book as a must read.

5.0 out of 5 stars $.99 to change your life forever July 30, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I have read many 'goal' and life books and always get at least something out of it. But Craig's book is the best Goal setting book I've read.

I've been following Craig for years now, as a fellow fitness professional, his time management and ability to get stuff done is unparalleled.

There are new takes on goal setting that if followed will change your life. I've been meandering a bit too long with my goals, but this book has really helped me a lot. I own 3 companies so it's imperative that I follow a strict plan to achieve my goals.

But beware, this is going to take work on your part. But I'm about that and so is Craig. MASSIVE ACTION and Goal setting to live the life you always wanted to.
