My kinds love it, they spend a lot of time playing it on the PS3. The really plus for me is that it has real two player mode so both my kids can enjoy the game, and not just playing and the other one getting bored waiting their turn. My son keeps talking about it and wants to tell me every detail :)

The How to Train Your Dragon PS3 game fell far short of my (and my child's) expectations. The good:
(1) some "arcade" like features including flying the dragons. (2) customization, albeit limited, features for each dragon. The bad: (1) the graphics are PS2 quality (2) It is simply a recast "Kung Fu" fighting game wherein the toons beat the begeeses out of each other with dragons. (3) One would think with the adventure tone of the movie, the game creators would have made a little more exploration (of quality of Rachet and Clank) and less antiquated kung fu theater. Overall, I think Dreamworks and Activision really missed an opportunity here. I'm hoping they consider a better release in the future.

This is a great game overall. Some of the "taking care of your dragon" areas of the game can be a bit complex for younger players, but I've honestly been surprised at how much fun the game is.
We haven't been playing it long, but I would have liked to see more story in the game.

Just like the movie, but a little hard for kids,

Game looks great, fun at first, but to train and take care of the dragon is a little challanging for a 6 year old. Overall it's still a fun game.

We bought this for our boy, and I decided to try it to see what it was like after I watched him play it a bit. It's not what you'd expect at all. I thought it was just dragon fighting and that he wouldn't like it, but he wanted it. It is dragon fighting, but you have tons of quests to do between fights. You choose when to fight. Unlock dragons, play again each other with your own dragon or with a standard version. You have to train to unlock moves. It's really far more complicated than you would think for a child's game. Let's just say I spent hours training a dragon, and learning how to do it. He beat me. And I mean beat me bad! This is something you can play with your kid and really enjoy it! I give it five because-that graphics are better than some high priced games. It's a child's game an adult can play without going crazy. It's challenging.

Purchased this game for a 12 yr. old granddaughter, who loves video games as well as dragons, and she is thrilled with it.
