5.0 out of 5 stars Put Your Fake Book to Work!, July 16, 2003
This review is from: How to Use a Fake Book: Fakin' Accompaniments from Melodies and Chord Symbols (Fake Books) (Paperback)
I have been using fake books for 30+ years and Ann Collins gives just about the best I've seen in showing new users the ropes.

I have over a thousand dollars worth of fake books and despite the fact the I have been using them for so long already - Ann still gave insights that were new to me!

Don't miss out - snag this book!

If you don't know your piano chords and is clueless how to use "fake book". This book will get you off the ground. You won't be a jazz pianist right away but it will get you started playing many songs in a simplified way. Lot of helpful hints. And if you practice hard,,,, the sky is the limit.

This book was recommended to me by my piano teacher. My goal is to be proficient enough on the piano within a year in order to play during the worship service at our church. This book is intented to prepare to read and play musical chords by "faking" it. I was very impressed with this method and am finding it fun and challenging to learn. The store that I purchased the book from was very responsive, and I received the book shortly after I ordered it. One note that I want to mention is their responsiveness when I realized that I had given them the physical address of my home for delivery. When I realized that they were sending the book via USPS, I contacted them and they promptly changed the address to my post office box. It they hadn't done that, the book would have been returned to them and then it would have been a rat race to get things back into motion again. I highly recommend the book store that took care of my order. My hats are off to them.
