I bought this book because I had read the original many years ago and wanted to re-read it.This edition is not the original -- but a reprint -- I guess it had gone out of copyright and was in the public domain. Donald Carty put in his bits around the original published by Dorthea Brande. Dorthea Brande's book was in many senses about getting out of your rut and living the life you always imagined. It's one of the original self-help books and many since then have tried to emulate it. I will never forgot how inspired I felt when I first read it. This printing is of poor quality and has many typos. I am going to look for the original as it has a different feel to it.

Wow! Brian Tracy comments about this book in his Audio Series "The Psychology of Success" - what a waste of time and effort. I get the picture if you write things down they tend to clarify themselves, but, this lady (as successful as she became)wrote too much all by herself - my opinion. The exercises are simply out modded. If all you want is too develop better means to address "self-talk" get "The Winners Bible" - modern and more substantial.
