Just How Do We Know So Much About the Romans?,

This review is from: How We Know About The Romans (Hardcover)
Anyone who has ever studied the ancients has had to ask themselves, "Just how do they know so much?". The value of this book is that addresses this question in a manner appropriate for young children. On a typical two page layout, the top section is a detailed recreation of Roman life. Below this, is an illustration of modern day archaeologists digging up the same ancient site. This whole approach works well because John James is an extraordinarily talented historical illustrator. "How We Know About the Romans" is an interesting book that will appeal to both children and parents alike. Highly recommended.
