Editorial Reviews

Review

"Even when we live in pain and limitation, we have the choice to say yes to life. Attitude is everything. That is the message of this fine book. I heartily recommend it." -John Gray, author of Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus

"The more serious the illness, the more important it is for you to fight back, mobilizing all your resources--spiritual, emotional, intellectual, physical." -Norman Cousins

Having lived with and still living with a very challenging health issue, this book has so helped me know I am not alone, for one thing. It also has given me practical helpful ways to talk with others about my illness without feeling I have to sugar coat it, nor deny how stressed out I am at times or how really hard it is at times as well. This book is a great blessing at any point in ones life. I highly recommend it, especially to those who are already dealing with or know someone who is dealing with chronic illness. It can help you choose how you want to experience your challenge and thus have a little more joy despite it all.

This book has really helped me change my attitude toward what I previously perceived as body limits. Now I understand these are only limits in my mind. There are ways to go beyond these limits through retraining self talk and preconceived ideas about what should happen or be true for me.

Excellent book for anyone looking for a more holistic approach and mindset when facing everything from a common cold to severe health problems. Our body is one part of the whole picture and it is great to read from someone who had done the work of walking through the experience with which he shares to his readers.
