Chinese brush painting text,
This review is from: The How and Why of Chinese Painting (Paperback)
I am a semi-professional artist who normally paints in oils or acrylics. Occasionally I like to dabble in Chinese brush painting. I have taken one course on the subject. I own about 6 books on the subject and this is one of the best. I have one other book on Chinese landscape brush painting that I consider the equal of this book. These two books are head and shoulders above my other books on the subject. It is clear that Ms. Kan is a very accomplished artist and the demonstrations in the book show that she is well trained. The author discusses the philosophy of brush painting along with the techniques.

This review is from: How and Why of Chinese Painting (Art-in-practice series) (Hardcover)
My teacher always refers to this book first in class. It is pretty comprehensive and easy to see the process. A little of everything.
