.... I'm always amazed at how punk bands care for one another. When one punk band makes it big they always give other punk bands the opportunity and the chance to play on the big stage with them. They get the chance to impress the impressionable masses. Kudos must go to Nitro Records (run by Offspring's yelper Dexter Holland) for releasing this CD. Kudos also to Blink 182 for bringing Bodyjar out on tour with them. Bodyjar's live show was energetic and exciting which made me worry a little because nine time out of ten that means they could never recreate the magic of the live show on a CD. I'm not happy to report how wrong that thinking was. How it works can be described as the best parts of Green Day, Blink 182 and Unwritten Law. These bands come to mind but Bodyjar has it's own unique style that keeps it from being just another faceless punk band. Ross on the drums and Grant on bass keep is tight and bouncy so that Cam and Tom and riff away and sing with conviction and feeling.

I'm not one to write lyrics in a review but this is one of the best lines I've heard in a while. It's from the song, "Another Day": "So wake up to your decisions/Delusion creates your own submissions/even though you won't be sure/still you can't take anything back"

The first time i heared them was in 2002 when i layed Thps 3 in the N64, Bodyjar came up as a playist. I was amazed at how good the song was. Some days later after looking for the album i found it, bought it and liked it ever since. Its very well made. I love green day alot and probably thats why i was hooked to these guys, My favorite sonf is Clean Slate and Not the same. You should check these guys cd out. Especially this Album. Its unfortunte that not many people in the u.s know about them, But since you now know about them, CHECK THTHIS ALBUM OUT! REALLY GOOD!!!!

This CD is FANTASTIC! From beginning to end, the tracks keep coming at you, and they are all extremely varied. The lyrics are intelligent and meaningful and will take you multiple listens to figure out-- which is made very easy since the lead singer has such a unique and musically sound voice. My favorite tracks are "Not the same", "Ordinary Lives", "Make it up", and "Clean Slate", and "Running Out of Time."

A great quality about this band is their wide appeal. I played a Bodyjar song ("Remote Controller") for some classmates of mine who normally aren't into punk, but they loved that song. Likewise, my friends normally object when I stick my Face to Face cd in their car stereo, but everyone seems to be happy with Bodyjar, which is fine with me since they rock.

The guitar riffs are something to behold as well, although I think the choruses are the album's strongest point. These songs will stick in your head forever. GET THIS ALBUM!!

There is absolutely nothing that Bodyjar can't do. The singer has a great voice, and it's good to hear how they express feelings in a melodic way like this.
I really enjoy the variation in their songs. Clean Slate for example has a 3/4 rhythm which makes it totally different from the rest. This is the kind of music that makes me feel good :).

Although I grew up around the outer-eastern Melbourne music scene that spawned Bodyjar (back when several of them were in Helium) I never actually took notice of their music until I pulled up alongside another car at a red light. I could hear muffled strains of something drifting over, and it sounded great. I frantically motioned to the driver to wind down his window before the light went green again. "What's that you're playing?" "Bodyjar". A couple of days later I picked up How It Works and was hooked.

These boys play very good power punk and they play it very well. They have an uncanny ear for melody, and vocalist Cam Baines never misses a note. The songs vary greatly in tempo, mood, texture and even time signature (e.g. Clean Slate). As you'd expect there's not much flashy guitar here, but it's all rock solid, precise, and always holds your interest.

I'm perplexed as to why these guys haven't made it bigger internationally. They are punk legends here in Oz, having supported just about any international act you'd care to mention as well as playing heaps of under-age shows, which gives an indication of the breadth of their appeal.

The standout tunes for me are Ordinary Lives and Another Day (which I think is what I originally heard back at the traffic lights).

Go The Jar!

I saw them in concert with Blink and New Found Glory and was surprised at how awesome these guys were. Especially for being an opener...they have the talent to be on the mainstage soon. Of anything I've heard from them, this CD is the most melodic of them all. Of course I've just downloaded so far...I'm having trouble finding the CD's. But from what I've heard, this is the best.

This is the best aussie pop punk band I've ever heard. They're also the only aussie pop punk band I've ever heard, but oh well. The songs are excellent from beginning to end, with great guitar licks (though not very complex, don't expect anything groundbreaking) and a really good singer. Their lyrics are great, as is their sense of humor, if you watch their music videos. They are my favorite pop punk band, much better than the more mainstream bands like Blink-182 (which I am not fond of). Be forewarned though: The song "Not The Same" is probably where you heard Bodyjar, because it was on Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3, and besides from that, is their most popular song in the US. Don't expect all of the songs to have that sound. This band does great experiments with their amps, and I love the sound - but it's not common.

Do you like SUM41? NSYNC? BLINK182? Well, then you have to love BODYJAR! They are a hip band with catchy tunes and awesome music. The best song on the album is Not The Same (#1).
