Sally Wagner was one of my high school teachers back in the early 1970s. I knew then she had diabetes, but did not know she went blind because of it. Miss Wagner was one of my favorite teachers and I was sad to hear of her passing years later. It chronicles the difficulties of going blind and finally total darkness and learning to navigate without sight. She writes as I remember her speaking. Plain truth. She did not let blindness stop her; she kept going. Inspiring now as she was years ago.
