Book Description

November 17, 2005 007146039X 978-0071460392 23

Completely Updated: The ultimate guide to paying the IRS less--with the latest changes in the 2006 tax codes

Totally updated for 2006, this unique tax guide focuses on tax saving, not tax preparation. Organized around all the IRS-sanctioned deductions, shelters, credits, and exemptions, How to Pay Zero Taxes stands apart from the crowd because it's easy to read, easy to apply, and it zeroes in on how you can save money in payments. Tax expert Jeff Schnepper includes comprehensive coverage of more deductions than any other tax book, including those related to child care and elder care, moving expenses, job hunting expenses, mortgages and points, investment expenses, and 401(k)s.

"If there's a tax break allowed out there, it's in here."--New York Daily News

4.0 out of 5 stars You have to be serious about it., December 29, 2005

I've been reading this author's columns on the web for some time. You can not read this book and look at it as a "self-help" tool. It's not that at all. You must be at least semi-business minded to execute these types of tactics and strategy or you will fall on your face. For me, a well read business person (at least I think so) this book can be summarized like this: It's a Cliffs Notes version of the Tax Code, written for the savvy tax payer. He takes the aspects of the tax code that pertain to a lot of people and breaks it down. There are times when a law degree would be helpful to read this. But, if you read it carefully, you'll do better than you had, were you not to read it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Jeff is my FAVORITE tax planner!, August 26, 2006

This review is from: How to Pay Zero Taxes, 2006 23rd Edition (Paperback)
I started getting and reading his books in 2003 (see my Listmania), and have begun visiting his MSN message boards and article indexes. I now have a brand new tax issue, and am looking to the 2006 and 2007 books for guidance in how to handle/shelter a coming $10k raise.

His books are a strategy guide for KEEPING more of what you make, rather than letting Uncle Sam get his incompetent mitts on it--everyone who gives a damn about his or her money should be reading Jeff Schnepper's books each year.
