This review is from: How to be an IT Administrator: By Robert McMillen (Volume 1) (Paperback)
With such a simplistic title I shouldn't have expected too much. This book gives very broad guidelines without any real detail. Some of the information is slightly inaccurate. The book is up to date as of last year, which helps, but I was hoping for a bit more detail. The writing style in the book reminds me of a person almost just thinking out loud. If you've never done any system administration this is a good book to introduce you to some basic concepts, but I'd still take the advice with a grain of salt. I've been a system administrator for small business for five years, and in my opinion most of his advice is accurate, but some isn't, and it's hard to tell the difference if you don't know any better.

5.0 out of 5 stars Everything you wanted to know about IT but were afraid to ask, August 23, 2009
This review is from: How to be an IT Administrator: By Robert McMillen (Volume 1) (Paperback)
This book has a plethora of information and good advise. The section that caught my attention was the chapter on Disaster Recovery. This is stuff that most companies and IT departments ignore because it is too much work, but it pays off big time when the river rises!

I highly recommend this book.
