Yeah, nothing really happens in the end. Johnny Truant just kinda fades away, no real resolution with his descent into madness. You never really find out what is up with the house. It's just Navidson wandering around for awhile until he runs out of supplies and ends up falling thru nothingness. Then his wife finds him with some broken bones and frost bite. Their story and the story of the house isn't really resolved either.
It was such a good book, then it seemed like Danielewski just gave up.
