Her books show readers how to develop and maintain a well-rounded, affordable, and healthy leisure component in their lives.
Lisa Turner became the Leisure Lady ten years ago, during a media tour, when a reporter used that term in an interview. Other media picked it up. The tag stuck. She decided that it was easier to switch than fight. She has been an adjunct faculty member at the University of Utah, University of Washington, Seattle Pacific University, and Bellevue Community College. Her educational background includes a Bachelors and Masters degree from the University of Utah, both in Recreation and Leisure Studies.
Although Lisa grew up in New England, for the past eighteen years she has made her home in Washington state. When she isnt busy spreading the word about the importance of everyone having meaningful, healthy leisure experiences in their lives, she is busy finding time for her own leisure interests, painting and volunteering for older people with developmental disabilities.
