It is a hard drive, it doesn't have any memory. Memory is RAM and it is for programs to use as temporary storage.

The hard drive has space in which to store files. This one has 1 terabyte (1,000 gigs).

Hard drives DO have RAM that is used as a buffer between the disk drive and the computer. This one would probably have about 32 to 64 MB of RAM.

Actually, I think Joseph's response was a very gracious one. Many people who mix up memory and disk space need just the response he offered. We were all there once.

You know very well what he meant. He's asking how much does it REALLY hold. For example, a 512 mb flash drive really only holds 485 mb (after formatting and such)
