I live in a condominium and am not allowed to install a dish. Is this sufficient for being unable to receive DirecTV?

B. LeClair says:
According to several sources, this clause doesn't matter in this particular promotion. Amazon and EA have both made statements indicating that you do NOT even have to attempt to sign up for DirecTV to be eligible to receive the 17 week "trial".

Unable to received DirecTV usually means that they cannot get a signal from the placement of the satellite (I believe it's Northwest placement, but someone else could confirm for sure), or if you live in a complex that does not allow satellite dishes.

Again, though, as far as we've been told, this shouldn't matter at all for this promotion. If they change their mind, Amazon is going to have plenty of angry customers demanding refunds.

Hey all,

Just to confirm to everyone in this thread, you don't need a DirecTV subscription to benefit from the Anniversary Edition bonuses. The code can be redeemed on a website (No need to own a 360/PS3) and will give you access to NFL Sunday Ticket on your computer, tablet, or mobile device. Regardless of DirecTV's availability in your area, you don't have to get DirecTV service to redeem this. Each code can only be used by one person at a time (e.g. You can start watching on a laptop, then stop playback and start watching on a tablet, but you cannot watch both simultaneously).

I asked DirecTV on Aug 6 via e-mail and they indicated otherwise. Here is what their response was (focus on the 3rd paragraph):

Thank you for writing about the Madden NFL 25 Anniversary Edition offer.

We strive to ensure that all customers receive each offer for which they may be eligible. DIRECTV has partnered with EA Sports to offer a season-long free trial subscription for NFL ST Max to people who purchase the "Madden NFL 25 Anniversary Edition" video game and are not currently DIRECTV customers.

For non-DIRECTV customers who can't get DIRECTV service at their current address, each "Madden NFL 25 Anniversary Edition" includes a unique code to access NFL ST Max on their computer, tablet, or mobile device (not on their TV). This offer is an online experience only which allows non-DIRECTV customers to get NFL games on their mobile device, tablet, or computer (PC or Mac) if they can't get DIRECTV at their current address. Please visit for additional offer details.

I hope you find this information helpful

This is the perfect answer and should be the #1 thing people see. Especially because it details how this version of Sunday Ticket will only work on one device at a time. TY Amazon Josh.

(As a side detail: This "trial version" is Sunday Ticket Max, if you look at the details. You have access to every single feature of Sunday Ticket, just one device at a time is all.)

Correct. The inclusion of the word "can't" opens all types of canned worms. Everything from renting to financial ability to pay for a DirectTV subscription falls under the "can't" clause. Just because DirectTV can provide service to an address doesn't mean a person CAN get the service there.

There is basically no way DirectTV will be able to deny people this service. You could even make up a fake e-mail/persona when turning in the code even if you have DirectTV and you're the name on the bill. DirecTV won't be running an IP snooping program just to ban you from getting Sunday Ticket.

this is what DIrectv told me as well about the promotion.

As mentioned before, the above offer will be available to a non-DIRECTV customer who can't get DIRECTV services at his or her current location (for example, in a tall building in Manhattan, NY). You said that you are able to get DIRECTV in your area, as such, you will be ineligible for the offer unless you signed up for DIRECTV services.

Wayne Watson says:
It is DirecTV's position in this to transfer as many as us "Trial" sunday ticket customers to paying, locked in, card carrying members of the direcTV family! If you call them and they say "don't worry, you can use the code for this year and then never pay us again" that would be bad business. They will use the vague nature of contract wording to make this an opportunity to grow their business. It's simply in their best interest to attempt to profit from this offer. I sincerely doubt the CEO or CFO of DirecTV is some Madden loving dork like me that has somehow owned every iteration of Madden since the glory days of Sega Genesis. Do we all recall the first time we made Deion Sanders highstep into the endzone? I do! DirecTV is a business, and when you call in to a business asking for permision not to pay them, you're not going to like the response!

Lol at all you people quoting things. It's all just legal words, you will get the Sunday ticket on your mobile. My address can get direct tv, I have no need for it, but my neighbor has it, regardless I got access just fine. Calm your panties kids.

Also future advice customer service reps at every company are useless, so don't take their word as gospel.

You get a random code in the game, enter it you'll be fine.

Btw my friend has directtv, and he just used his code fine, and he doesn't have the ticket package. You will all be fine end this thread.
