!!!I can't believe there isn't a review yet for this dvd - one of the best concert performances I've ever seen of any artist!!!

Plus:
The acoustic format is sensational - Howard is in great voice (especially considering the 5000 feet elevation where even active broadway singers struggle with their breath control.) He mesmerizes the audience with special renditions of many songs and improvisational genius on the Yamaha Clavinova. His sole accompanyment (besides enthusiastic audience participation in some songs) is Carol Steele who is perfect foil to Hojo in her role with percussion and backing vocals.

I believe price is lower on this concert dvd due to lower production costs / the video is standard def from 1996 and the lighting is not ideal - some shots are washed out / However, the Audio is FANTASTIC. 5.1 mix is PERFECT for an analog transfer. (on Klipsch Reference IIc front speakers and center channel + standard klipsch surrounds, Denon midrange reciever) [NOTE: This was essentially some old footage that Sadia Sadia and Stephen W Taylor edited up into a rich window into a wonderful period in Howard's career that many of his fans might have missed otherwise. ] * I mention the poor video quality so expectations are not misplaced by my high rating and the release date of 2007 which may lead one to assume quality was higher when in fact concert was recorded in mid-90s *

First of all, as a concert lover, this is one of all-time favorites. Howard's fan base in Utah creates an electric atmosphere for a concert which Howard seamlessly steers from euphoria to introspective contemplation while developing varying moods. I also have the Sheperd's Bush Dvd (very good) and I've watched it a couple times, but this one a dozen or more. The Salt Lake concert is very inspiring stuff. Don't miss it.
