5.0 out of 5 stars Great Plugs
I have used many Earplugs working in the Offshore industry. I find these plugs far superior to others I have used. (Tip) If you wet the end of the plug, they go in very easy and to the depth you need. GREAT EARPLUGS...

This review is from: Howard Leight SmartFit corded earplugs with carrying case â?" 2 pair (Misc.)
I have just received these HOWARD LEIGHT SMARTFIT EAR PLUGS. I inserted them in my ear. However, I had great difficulty -- except for the feeling of soft objects in my ears -- in distinguishing the difference in sound levels between having NO earplugs in and having these HOWARD LEIGHT SMARTFIT earplugs in my ears.

Examining the earplugs up close, I noticed that they are comprised of only three very soft and thin "rubberish" baffles, with a combined thinness of probably about 100th of a normal, cheap pair of foam earplugs. They therefore appear to function ONLY if they fit your ear perfectly and tightly (in fact, almost airtight in the ear canal), which these "SMARTFIT" earplugs do not do so (at least in my ears).

Yet I have never had such a problem with any other earplugs I have ever used. (Being a shooter, I have used *many* earplugs and hearing muffs in my life, and I have never come across ones that didn't actually work for me at all. Until now, that is).

5.0 out of 5 stars Used Daily for 12 Years, April 4, 2011

I have used a lot of earplugs working in an industrial environment everyday, and these are the best I've ever used. All earplugs of this type must be inserted into the ear canal to work properly. These are the most comfortable I've ever used and work very well. They also last a very long time; I will typically use a pair for weeks if not months. They clean up well and maintain there softness. I won't use anything else.
