Editorial Reviews

Amazon.com Review

With Howard Stern A to Z Luigi Lucaire has created an entirely new literary genre: the alphabetical biography. It makes so much sense it's amazing no one thought of it before. You want to hear the story of Howard Stern's homosexual experience? Just look under "H." When did Howard start using Windows 95? The answer comes right after a note about Howard's childhood appreciation of ventriloquist Paul Winchell and right before a short article about how much he hates Oprah Winfrey. If you're a Stern fan this is a must-have, but as someone who never listens to obnoxious morning disc jockeys, I still found it compelling reading as the first instance of a new literary form.

Product Description

With this invaluable resource, Stern's 16 million weekly listeners can keep a wealth of information stored at their fingertips--from Howard's middle name (Alan) and favorite food (Chinese) to his least successful school subject (chemistry). It's everything a fan needs to know!

1.0 out of 5 stars Do yourself a favour and forget this book, December 9, 1999
By David Nelson (Ontario, Canada) - See all my reviews
I saw this on sale at a local store for 1.99$ There were literally dozens of unsold copies. I figured, "what the heck, how can I go wrong for under 2 bucks?" After reading this piece of garbage, I realized I would have been happier with the money. The idea of an alphabetical bio of Stern is appealing, yet this particular incarnation is little more than a half-brained attempt to cash in on Stern's hard-fought popularity. It contained nothing a casual fan wouldn't already know. Furthermore, Lucaire seemed to go out of his way to mention Judaism whenever possible, and his tone sometimes suggested an underlying anti-semitic attitude. If you are a Stern fan, do yourself a favour and pick up Private Parts or Miss America instead. A to Z rates only an F.

4.0 out of 5 stars NOT A REVOLUTIONARY IDEA, March 21, 1998
By A Customer
The editor of "Pop Culture" wonders why no one had ever conceived of the "alphabetical biography" before dear Luigi. Well, some one did. His name was Randall Riese. And the book was the brilliant "Unabridged James Dean". Ba-Ba-Booey to you all!
