David J Howe has been involved with
Doctor Who research and writing for over 30 years.
He has been consultant to a large number of publishers and manufacturers for their
Doctor Who lines, and is author or co-author of twenty four factual titles associated with the show. He also has one of the largest collections of
Doctor Who merchandise in the world.
David was contributing editor to
Starburst magazine for sixteen years and is reviews editor for
Shivers magazine. In addition he has written articles, interviews and reviews for a wide number of publications including
Fear,
Dreamwatch,
Stage and Television Today,
The Dark Side,
Doctor Who Magazine,
The Guardian,
Film Review,
SFX, Sci-Fi Entertainment, Infinity and Collectors Gazette.
He edited the British Fantasy Society's bi-monthly newsletter for several years in the nineties as well as editing and publishing several books for them, including the British and World Fantasy Award shortlisted
Manitou Man, a limited edition hardback and paperback collection of short fiction by horror author Graham Masterton.
He wrote the book
Reflections: The Fantasy Art of Stephen Bradbury for Dragon's World Publishers, the screenplay for the film
Daemos Rising and has contributed short fiction to
Peeping Tom,
Dark Asylum,
Decalog,
Perfect Timing, Dark Horizons and
Shrouded by Darkness: Tales of Terror and factual articles to
James Herbert: By Horror Haunted (Hodder & Stoughton) and
The Radio Times Guide to Science Fiction (2001, BBC).
Since 2000 he has been Director of Telos Publishing Ltd, and in 2006 the company won the World Fantasy Award for their publishing work.
Dr. Arnold T. Blumberg is Curator of Geppi's Entertainment Museum at Camden Station in downtown Baltimore, Maryland and author of the official museum book,
Pop Culture with Character: A Look Inside Geppi's Entertainment Museum.
Before that, he served as Editor of Gemstone Publishing (
The Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide, Hake's Price Guide to Character Toys)
. He authored Gemstone's
The Big BIG LITTLE BOOK Book: An Overstreet Photo-Journal Guide, and co-authored the second and third editions of Gemstone's
Overstreet Comic Book Grading Guide.
Arnold has written extensively on pop culture and entertainment for
The International Journal of Comic Art, Overstreet's FAN, Comic Book Marketplace, Collector's Showcase, Dreamwatch, Borderline, Whotopia, EON Magazine, Cinescape, and
Now Playing (he was also Senior Editor for the last three). He also wrote the online guide to collecting science fiction collectibles for eBay.
Arnold is co-author of the indispensable guide to
Doctor Who collectibles, Telos Publishing's
Howe's Transcendental Toybox, now in its second edition, with two supplementary volumes covering 2003 and 2004-2005 merchandise.
Arnold contributed to the
Doctor Who charity anthologies,
Missing Pieces, The Cat Who Walked Through Time, and
Walking in Eternity. He also wrote a story for
The Doctor Who Project's Season 32, developed another story and companion for the
Project's Season 33 and is threatening to return for Season 35. He contributed reviews of the
Doctor Who Series 2 episodes for J. Shaun Lyon's
Second Flight: Back to the Vortex II, also from Telos.
He designs many of Telos' other books and is the proud co-author of their new guide to zombie cinema,
Zombiemania: 80 Movies to Die For.Arnold has appeared as a lecturer and moderator. He holds a Masters in Publications Design from the University of Baltimore, a Doctorate in Communications Design from the same institution, and teaches a course in comic book literature at the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC).
