5.0 out of 5 stars Howl- A Joyfully Recommended Title, February 20, 2008
This review is from: Howl (Paperback)
Leashed-Two for One Deal by Jet Mykles
Meg is a witch with a problem, she's been given an ultimatum by a
powerful, evil male witch, join his coven or else and the deadline is
Samhain. In an effort to protect herself and stop his plans, she casts
a summoning spell which would leash a shape shifter to her and provide
protection. Meg gets more than one shifter though. She gets two sexy
powerful shape shifters. Rudy a young playful werewolf, and Michael, a
mysterious, strong but silent type of were jaguar. Not only do these
two men do everything and then some in their power to protect Meg from
the evil witch who wants her, but they also take her to heights of
passion like she's never before. The question running through all
their minds is, what happens next? The unspoken question hanging in
the air between them all is does she love me? Do they love me?

Wolfe's Gate by Raine Weaver

Who's afraid of the big bad wolf? Scarlett "Red" Grier certainly
isn't, but she IS afraid of thunderstorms. In her determination to
avoid a pounding thunderstorm, Red seeks shelter in the home of Grayson
Wolfe. Little does she know she's stepping into the wolf's den. Soon
passions escalate and emotions run high as Grayson tries to prove he's
no cuddly puppy and Red tries to prove she's ready for him to huff,
puff, and love her down.

All Hallows' Moon by Jeigh Lynn

On her way to her best friends' home for a Halloween party, Jill hits
what she thinks is a big dog, but in the pouring rain looks can be
deceiving. Taking refuge in an empty cottage, Jill tries to tend the
wounds of the enormous wolf. She soon finds out that he's more than a
wolf; he's a man. A hot man! Dash knows the scent of the woman caring
for him; she's his mate. Now how to convince her that they belong
together?

Howl is the first anthology that I've read in a long time. I have
shied away from reading anthologies because there's usually a story
within the bunch that is disappointing. Well I can honestly say with
Howl there is not one story that disappoints! From the steamy, sexy
ménages, to the passion filled couples, these three stories have it
all.

Jet Mykles is a favorite of mine because of her Dark Elves, but with
Leashed she delivers yet again! I love the temperamental Michael, he
can growl at me anytime! Despite his reluctance at being leashed,
Michael did his job and THEN some! The pair of Michael and Rudy seemed
unlikely, as they are different as night and day, but add into their
mix Meg, and this is one trio you don't want to mess with. I totally
enjoy their battles, their loving and their banter.

Wolf's Gate is also a good read! Despite being warned off by Grayson,
Red is bound and determined to get her man, er wolf! She doesn't care
what he turns into at night but she cares about WHO he is inside, which
is just the affirmation that Grayson needs, only he's too stubborn to
realize it. I did get to the point where I had to remind myself that
this is a story and that Grayson can't hear me yelling at him and
calling him names. A totally engrossing tale!

All Hallows' Moon is a comedic, yet sizzling hot romp. Dash gives the
appearance of being a fun loving playboy all the time, but looks can be
deceiving. All of the characters are instantly loveable and Dash is my
hero! He's a sweetie, but an animal in bed, pun intended. Jill is
very centered and on set on a course and I think she needs a little
shaking up in her life and Dash is just the one to do it.

Though this book was released during Halloween this is an anytime read
and I suggest that time is now!

Note to reader: All Hallows' Moon is a part of Jeigh Lynn's Moon
series. Though it is stand alone, reading the previous two books Latin
Moon and A Lovers' Moon will give you a better understanding of the
cast of characters that appear in All Hallows' Moon.

4 stars for LEASHED: TWO FOR ONE DEAL by Jet Mykles.

Lots of hot steamy sex with two men and one woman. It was a fun story.

Meg is a witch. Roland is a male witch. He wants her to start a coven under him. She hates him. She casts a spell for two male shape shifters to be leashed to her to help protect her from Roland. Rudy is a wolf, Michael is a black Jaguar. The leashing brings them to her home. They like her and start licking, petting and playing with her. Then Roland's shifters arrive causing trouble.

3 stars for WOLFE'S GATE by Raine Weaver.

Cute ideas. Kind of nice story, but the ending crisis and resolution was too predictable. It's been done a lot.

Cute ideas with references to Little Red Riding Hood, the big bad wolf and grandma's house. Scarlett has red hair and is called Red. Her car gets stuck in the mud during a storm and the only house for miles is Grayson Wolfe's home. He is a wolf shape-shifter. Red bangs on the door, soaking wet and asks to wait out the storm. Gray reluctantly lets her stay. The sex scenes were pretty good. I did like some lines. Page 146 "he watched the watercolor-moonlight paint the landscape around him." Page 209 "My father liked to prove his manhood by beating the two women in his life. I left first. My mother didn't stay long afterward. When I finally came back home, she'd remarried. A nice guy. But she was so busy trying to please him twenty-four-seven, she couldn't waste time on being a mother."

Data:
Story length: 115 pages. Swearing language: strong, including religious words. Sexual language: strong. Number of sex scenes: 4, a few pages long each. Setting: current day hills of Aurora, Ohio. Copyright: 2005. Genre: erotic paranormal romance.

2.5 stars for ALL HALLOW'S MOON by Jeigh Lynn.

Story conflict based on miscommunication. I didn't like the story but I loved the character Dash.

Dash and Alex are wolf shape-shifter brothers. Alex and Jill are best friends and med students together. Alex brings Jill to his family's Halloween party where Jill meets Dash. Dash immediately recognizes Jill's scent as his mate. He's unbelievably drawn to her. I liked the beginning of the story but not the last half. It was just Dash not knowing what to do and waiting. Conflict due to miscommunication. The best parts were seeing Dash in the beginning of two sex scenes. He was so in lust with her and desired her so much. It really drew me in. But the overall story wasn't good enough to recommend.

Data:
Story length: 98 pages. Swearing language: strong. Sexual language: strong. Number of sex scenes: 4, (1 to 6 pages each). Setting: current day Texas. Copyright: 2005. Genre: erotic paranormal romance.
