Book Description

Healer Rhiannon Quinn has always had a soft spot for werewolves. When her stepfather died of a silver bullet wound she determined to dedicate her life to finding a cure for the silver bullet curse. She studied herbs and magic but chemistry and alchemy were her obsessions. When Rhiannon’s old friend Franny mentioned she needed help in her Las Vegas healing practice due to the influx of supernaturals frequenting The New Moon, Rhiannon packed a bag and moved to Vegas. She had no idea that fate would bring her obsession and her passion crashing together in the Nevada desert. Former police detective Ean Hemming left the force because of the politics. His position as head of security at The New Moon was a great gig with an excellent paycheck that allowed him to pursue his hobbies and take every full moon off. Little did he know that the pack leader of Las Vegas would be murdered and Ean would find himself up to his hackles in pack politics and supernatural rivalries. Just when he thought all was lost, the silver bullet that threatened his life would save his soul.

4.0 out of 5 stars Werewolves, Vampires and Love at the New Moon June 17, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Originally published as part of a marvelous e-compilation called Spells, Slots and Sirens (regretably now out of print apparently), Howl is set in the New Moon casino, home to an eclectic collection of paranormals. Medical researcher Riannon Quinn has come to the New Moon to complete her research on a cure for silver poisoning in werewolves and to forget a man she knew years ago and can't seem to forget.
Ean Hemming is the new chief of security at the New Moon - a "man" in search of a new start and a little forgetfulness himself. But there's a lot going on at the New Moon and when Ean gets caught in the middle of a struggle for control of the casino, Riannon's untested research may be the only way to save his life and both their dreams.

Werewolves, vampires and of course romance from and author who never fails to please. Well worth the price.

1.0 out of 5 stars Horrible. April 22, 2013
By Rabbit
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I hated this book........ It was a quick read, even quicker since I didn't finish the last 5%. I have to say it was one of the lamest books I have ever read, and that is saying something considering I have read a LOT of free Kindle books. There was no real drama, romance, action.... nothing!!! The two main characters (love interests) were together at some point years ago (a quick love affair).... and both characters remember it fondly, miss one another.... but spend at least 90-95 percent of the book apart. They find each other at the very end and then it there is some "action" NOT... and then it is over. It wasn't even worth FREE. When I want to read a paranormal romance... I actually expect romance, action and the two love interests to spend some time together in the book.... not just two people pinning for each other through memories. UGHhhhh. Not to mention the editing is horrendous. Editing isn't normally a problem for me... but this was bad enough I noticed it EVERY time. I will never read something from this author again....

5.0 out of 5 stars Hard to put down October 12, 2012
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
Lisa Pietsch did a great job of keeping me 'sucked' into the book. I couldn't put it down and the setting in Las Vegas was great. She did an excellent job in writing a story to include several different types 'supes' (were, vamp, witch)and not make it corny. I would love to read more as to where Rhiannon and Ean go in their relationship. I could see several off shoots from this one with stories of Jack and Frannie as well as others.

Awesome Job Lisa - send us more about these truly wonderful characters!

5.0 out of 5 stars Top Notch June 17, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Lisa writes a fast paced novel that keeps you pulling for the hero and heroine the whole time. Her knowledge of the otherworldly, police tactics, medicine, etc. does not insult the reader's intelligence and shows she's done her research and is much appreciated. It's great entertainment....I "smell" a series. Looking forward to many more of this nature.

4.0 out of 5 stars Awesome short story March 23, 2013
By CS
Format:Kindle Edition
I really liked the author's writing style, which gave you more background details as the story progressed. The couple didn't have a lot of time together but that doesn't take away from the action and good side characters. I hope there will be a sequel soon because the ending finished abruptly without resolving a lot of questions.

3.0 out of 5 stars I'm not an expert... August 21, 2013
By Rebecca
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This story is a little predictable with the romance, there are parts I like. The start with the 'interview' was okay and the interaction with the dog; humorous. The ending could make you curious enough to buy the sequel to see what happens.

More About the Author

Lisa Pietsch was born Lisa Thibault in Lewiston, Maine. Her father was a carpenter and her mother a homemaker. It was a modest, middle-class world for this 3rd generation American whose family still spoke a mish-mash of French and English at home. Her grandparents were the first of her family born in the U.S. while her Thibault and Gravel forefathers were counted among the early few French settlers in Quebec.

Lisa has enjoyed many adventures in her lifetime and is still racking up more. A significant amount of time in the United States Air Force yielded far more adventures than she'd ever imagined. Though the photo at right is in dress blues, Lisa preferred combat boots, BDUs and a bandana for headgear (see below). She was most happy carrying machine guns and heavy packs of ammunition. But that was a long time ago.

Lisa traded in her combat boots for wedded bliss and motherhood. Little did she know, "Wedded" and "Bliss" didn't always go together. The bliss part would come later though.

Escaping into an alternate future, Lisa wrote several novels based around the character Sarah Stevens. The were well received and her experience in promoting them gave her the confidence to seek a life of her own as a novelist and marketing consultant.

She achieved considerable success in bringing in results for her clients but wondered if she might prefer to write full time. Finally, circumstances allowed her to explore it and she discovered that her passion really was in marketing but would continue to write on the side.

With such a strong writing and marketing background, publishing was a natural next step. She partnered with John Knotts, a fellow veteran, on a local startup called SAXtreme. SAXtreme was a lifestyle magazine for San Antonio, Texas, that featured exercise, outdoor and healthy living choices for the greater San Antonio area. SAXtreme enjoyed strong growth and great success in its first six months. Unfortunately, with Knotts taking on a new corporate position, moving to a new home and marrying - as well as Lisa also moving to a new home and taking on more marketing clients, SAXtreme was set aside.

New adventures, new skills, and finally buying a home of her own helped Lisa to find a direction that was the perfect for her. She partnered with Alexander Perez and Mike Morales of Tequila Aficionado. They had the knowledge of tequila, tequila culture and its community and she brought her passion for fine tequilas and social media and digital marketing skills. Tequila Aficionado embarked on a new direction with Mike Morales as CEO and Lisa as COO. Tequila Aficionado Media found great success as it realized it's 15th year as a direct to consumer multimedia publication for agave spirits.

Then something else happened. Lisa and Mike discovered they were just as good together personally as they were professionally.

Lisa now enjoys her work as COO of Tequila Aficionado Media as well as a Digital Media Marketing Consultant. In her marketing work, Lisa creates websites, interlinks clients' social networks in a delightful web of efficiency, advises them on marketing strategies for their books and brands, and much more. She also writes extensively for Yahoo in the area of Author Marketing while unschooling her two amazing boys.

Her passion for foreign languages and fine tequilas and mezcals has launched her into a deeper study of the Spanish language which consists of binge-watching telenovelas at home whenever possible. This inevitably leads to inspiration for more fiction writing so don't expect to stop seeing her books at Amazon.com anytime soon she's still writing!

Lisa currently lives in San Antonio, Texas, with her darling companion Mike, sons Teddy & Markie, two cats, and a three-legged dog.

She expects her next adventure to involve an extended stay in Mexico very soon. (For research, of course!)
