5.0 out of 5 stars Greed & Hidden Truths of Cancer Cures
By viewing Hoxsey I learned a very important lesson and that is that there are those who really care about you but it is not in the present so called "money motivated health care system" we have in place today. There are very simple remedies out there in which we are not being told about because there is no money to be made in herbal medicine as there is in prescription...

There are very simple remedies out there in which we are not being told about because there is no money to be made in herbal medicine as there is in prescription drugs. The Harry Hoxseys of today are still out there but we are taught from an early age that we should put all our trust in modern medicine and that this is the only way. By viewing this documentary of a wonderful human being who cared and loved his fellow man you will also see that there are other ways we can help ourselves besides running off to a medical doctor every time we come down with an illness. I very highly recommend that if you have any health problems at all that you view this video. May this open your eyes up to the simple things in life.

5.0 out of 5 stars effective/alternative cancer clinic intro, July 5, 2006

a nice intro to hoxsey, his clinic(s), and his treatment; valuable to all, from cancer patients(as an intro tool when deciding on treatment) to health care professionals(& especially those still in training/school who haven't been polarized to an allopathic-only mindset). This video came before the (thick) bk, When Healing Becomes a Crime (which is a virtual treasure trove of cancer/treatment info, not just historical or hoxsey specific; highly recommend that you read the bk), and the video is a synopsis of the heart of the bk, minus later history/studies/otherTreatments. I learned of the video via the bk, which is actually one of my textbooks for the class "Cancer: Prevention and Politics," within my natural health degree program.

5.0 out of 5 stars Watch and you'll understand why doctors don't want you to know...., September 23, 2007

I was appalled at the treatment given to this man whose only desire was to help people recover from cancer when the doctors could no longer help them. He wasn't in it to beome super rich and swore to his dying father, who had invented this cure, that he would keep the price down so that no one would be turned away, thus making the cure available to all. The medical profession and pharmaceutical companies couldn't handle this altruism and when the latter couldn't buy the product away from Hoxsey so that they could make their $billions on it, they instead tried to sue the man and prosecute him for fraud. Too bad for them that Hoxsey kept winning his cases. Why? Because all the healed patients kept showing up to defend him. So it was undeniable that his cure worked. Please watch this movie if you or someone you love has cancer. At least it will open your mind to what is being done to people in the name of medicine which merely takes their money and doesn't really heal them, while preventing them from going to where a real cure is available.

5.0 out of 5 stars One must watch this DVD!!!, January 28, 2010
I cannot say enough good things about this DVD. The American Medical Association and the modern medical community have brainwashed us on three counts:
1) About what is good for us
2) What can be healed and what cannot be healed
2) That no one besides them can treat our diseases and health problems.

I advise you to watch this DVD and become aware of some of the other approaches that have proven to be very effective, when modern medicine has failed!

5.0 out of 5 stars Not For Innocent Ears, August 16, 2009
It is a well documented fact that Harry Hoxsey cured thousands of terminal cancer patients that the modern medicine of the time had given up on. He did so using non-toxic herbal formulas and gave his treatments without charge and without prejudice to all who needed his care but did not have the means to pay. In so doing, he committed two unforgivable crimes against the medical establishment: one, he cured cancer patients that 'they' had pronounced "incurable", and two, he refused to sell his herbal formulas to the medical establishment when they refused to agree to treat, without charge, anyone who was unable to pay. Thus began the saga of Harry Hoxsey vs. the AMA/FDA and the protracted war that only wound up depriving the world of one of the most viable cures for cancer that has come along so far.
Although this video is an outstanding, factual and unbiased exposé of one man's unfortunate experience with "Big Medicine", it is also, at the same time disturbing, frustrating and maddening. If you are of the opinion that health care in America, as controled by the FDA and the AMA, is the greatest thing since sliced bread...you probably should avoid this video. It isn't one of your mother's little bed time stories.
On the other hand, if your experience with health care in America has ever led you to ask yourself the question "why haven't we been able to cure cancer yet"?...this video will go a long way toward answering that question.
Right now our country is in the midst of a very heated debate about the wisdom and cost and practical implementation of a government sponsered universal health care. Watch this video and you may begin to understand just who really controls health care in America and just where this current debate is likely to wind up. Warning: it's not going to be pretty.
In my mind, this is one of those "must see" videos for anyone who truly desires to take back responsibility for their own health and who has ever wondered how health care in America got so disfunctional in the first place. I would also recommend the book "When Healing Becomes a Crime" by the same author who produced the video, as well as the book "You Don't Have to Die" by Harry Hoxsey himself. Both are great adjuncts to the video and provide foundational and contextual support.
The good news is, the treatment is still available and is still just as effective. The bad news is, you still can't get it in America.

This is a great documentary. Apparently the same DVD has been released under two different titles: the copy I received is titled "Hoxsey: The Quack Who Cured Cancer". The cover is a little cheesy, but the content is first rate. I wish I could buy thousands of copies and pass them out, especially to people who are battling cancer. While focusing on Harry Hoxsey, this DVD also illuminates the larger history of the war between the AMA and natural medicine. Most people are thoroughly brainwashed regarding medicine, and this is a message that needs to get out. It really is, as Kevin Trudeau says, all about the money. Get a copy and show it to anyone who will sit still long enough.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Info - Makes Your Blood Boil!, April 12, 2009
If you have a friend or loved one battling cancer, this movie is a must see!! There is so much more available than is made known to the general public. People should be given all of the options and then allowed to pursue the forms of treatment they feel best for their own personal situation. We, as the general public, are being cheated of this knowledge every day. Watch the movie and see for yourself!!

1.0 out of 5 stars Bad medicine., November 7, 2007
By
I picked up this documentary after reading the cover and being intrigued. I believed this would chronicle the ability of a charming person to infiltrate the world of science. But rather than serve as a warning about the ease of infiltrating the world of medicine, the film advocated Hoxsey as having touched upon "a cure for cancer." Despite the fact that Hoxsey's methods refuse to perform under controlled clinical trials and only base their successes on equal parts legend and testimonial, the film proposes that Hoxsey offers medical advancements that are somehow shunned by modern medicine. It spins ideas about a profit-driven medical industry controlling politics and preventing Hoxsey methods from being practiced in the United States. It never speculates on why Hoxsey methods don't establish themselves through clinical trials and instead promotes testimonials across the border to lure potential customers.
The film is blatant in its neglect of Hoxsey criticism. It will entertain anti-Hoxsey rhetoric, but never explains the importance of accountability in medical practice, peer reviewed methodology, licensure, objective data in clinical trials, or how cancer medicine and treatment have progressed in the past half century. Instead, Hoxsey portrays the current world of cancer treatment as being interchangeable with treatment of the 1920's and writes off protective measures as part of a profit driven bureaucracy.
In short, the film is a promotional video for Hoxsey clinics and not a reliable source of information for its medical validity or the history of its creator. In the world of documentaries, it does have one contribution: It allows viewers to see true believers. The film's subjects don't seem to be charlatans, but rather misguided people desperately wanting hope in the face of a terminal disease. If that were the aim of this documentary, it would have been very effective. That film is lost in the pursuit of a promotional video for Hoxsey's methods, though.
