Panasonic does not say what size filter can be attached to the lens of my FZ18 camera.They have their own filter but at a much higher price. This filter seems to do the job and seems well made. Pictures shot at 18X don't seem to loose much definition.Colors appear warmer. Now I have protection for my Leica Lens. Excellent price too.

I received the filter with a manufacturing defect. I am 87 years old and have played with and ordered filters for more than 70 years. I ordered this Hoya filter. It came with the initial thread hanging off the metal ring. I had to cut it before I could thread it on to my lens. Forunately this is a uv filter (colorless) and once on, there is no need to ever rethread it again.
Some times blind for profit, the manufacturer may sacrifice quality. This filter was made in the Philipines. With all due respect to the Philipines, I have never ever bought any photographic item made in the Philipines. Perhaps they are still learning. H.Kahn
