This game is ODD. It discourages young ones by not having a "non-scored" play option - my little one doesn't want to play it very much because she's getting Cs on some of the songs. It's not a true karaoke experience - you sing along with the characters. Also, when you chose a female character, you may be assigned the male part of the duet or vice versa - with harmonies rather than the recognizable tune of the song. While picking out the harmony might be a fun challenge to include as an option, it's too often the default and confusing for younger children (& their parents, to be honest). For such a great product (Wii) and a great theme (HSM), this game falls seriously short, looking like it was just thrown together in time for the Christmas ru$h. Too bad.

We bought this game for our 6 year old daughter who is obsessed with High School Musical (1 & 2). We thought she'd love singing along with her favorite characters to the songs she sings repeatedly throughout the day. At first she did enjoy it but now that we have had it for a week, she is already asking me what else there is to do on the game. And like other parents have said, she gets very discouraged when she only gets a "c" grade for her attempts. Also, in order to unlock the extra songs, my husband and I were stuck singing High School Musical songs for days on end in order to get a "grade" or score that unlocked the songs. My daughter really wanted to sing along to the song "Fabulous" but it wasn't a standard song and it took me an awful lot of singing to get it unlocked. And after all my efforts, my daughter sang along to "Fabulous" two times, got a "C" grade both times, got discouraged and is no longer interested. This game is really limited in terms of fun. I wouldn't recommend it unless you are okay with singing High School Musical songs over and over and over and over again (or listening to them).

I bought this along with Sing it. My 5 year old daughter is a HUGE HSM fan. While the game play is good enough for a 5 year old the story and graphics are not there. First of all you the graphics look alot like American Idol. Some background with which ever character you choose. It was a little disappointing when the song that my daughter loves takes forever to unlock if you are like me and sing like a frog and kids only want to sing the songs they know... I will say that my daughter loves being able to sing and hear herself while she is doing it. I just think that Sing it plays better and is more what we thought we were getting when we bought this.

Sometimes, there can be too much of a commercially successful movie franchise, it seems to be too good to be true. That also can be said with some video games. But, when the two of them are mixed together into a video game based on a movie series, that most of the time it can really be a diaster. That could be said for High School Musical. The Disney movie and its sequel has been one of the most watched events in cable TV history. Yet, with all the success, of other music games like Guitar Hero and Dance Dance Revoltion, it can seem to be a recipe for a sing-along Wii title, and here it is.
High School Musical: Sing It for the Nintendo Wii takes on the successful Disney movie franchise by letting you play your favorite High School Musical characters like Zac and Britney into the control of your own voice. The gameplay is just like other games that involve singing like American Idol, as you sing along to songs from the 2 Disney movies, High School Musical 1 & 2, like What Time Is It? and many others. The graphics are fair to look at, but the gameplay doesn't seem to draw into anyone but die hard fans of the movie. The sound fairs well, but the enjoyment of this game doesn't appeal to anyone who hasn't watched the loveable film series, but die hard fanatics alone of Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron, or for those who just love songs from movies that are young at heart. All in all, High School Musical is a great concept for the moment, but it just isn't as much of a must buy for Wii owners. It is a good party game, but I really would just consider this concept as a rental game only. It is definitely time to find something else to play, considering High School Musical: Sing It just misses the mark. Graphics: C+ Sound: B Control: B- Fun & Enjoyment: C for solo players; C+ for Multiplayer Overall: C 1/2+

This is a Game for kids, based on that: It its fun to play with your friends and you spend a great time in doing so. The only bad thing, the graphics, but we know tha wii is not known for their excellent graphics.

The characters on this game are not very clear to see and not who actually sings the songs in the movie. Also sometimes you have to sing behind the music to get the points. Not the best Wii game we have.

It's not going to be worth it if you pay more than $10--including shipping (I paid less). Don't get me wrong, this is not to say I don't love HSM and the songs--that's why I have it, for the karaoke. But other than being able to sing along like a karaoke CD this game has about zero going for it.
Cons: *The graphics are laughable. Laziness is exemplified in the whole design of the game. I've got N64 games that look better than this. Think Super NES so you're not disappointed. *The characters barely if at all resemble the HSM stars. They would have been better off doing anime-style renditions because it wouldn't have looked so cheap. *Story game play is junk. It's a narrated slideshow. You'd think Disney would be embarrassed to put their name on it. I don't know why they bothered. *Even if you go as a girl character, on the majority of songs you'll get the guy part. There's no option to learn or practice the duets. *Song selection is cumbersome and sometimes non-intuitive. Seriously, they could have ported a Karaoke Revolution game or even the American Idol ones and gotten superior results. Disney really could have banked a lot more if they'd even bothered to port a similar game, let alone put any effort into this at all. It's like interns built it for free. So why buy it at all? If you use it like a karaoke CD it's fine and fun. Plus if you already had the equipment on your Wii for far superior games, then it's something to add to a karaoke night. But you've got to think of it as a karaoke CD and not a game--any other way and you'll be 100% disappointed.

I bought this for my daughter for her 10th birthday. She is a big fan of all the High School Musicals and this was her absolute favorite gift. It also includes some of the popular songs form High School Musical and High School Musical 2. She can't get enough of it. I highly recommend this wii games for any kids out there who loved the High School Musical movies.

But when purchasing it didn't warn me I needed a microphone. You cannot use without a microphone so make sure you have already or purchase the package.
