I first heard Huapango at the 1982 World's Fair in Knoxville at the Mexican Pavillion. It instantly became one of my very favorite pieces of music! At that time, it was very hard to find a copy of it, but I found an LP at the library. In the liner notes, someone wrote that whenever they needed to be uplifted, they played Huapango. It is indeed one of the most inspiring musical works I have ever heard. The rest of the CD is excellent, as well.
