I bought Hudson Never Pump Bak-Pak Sprayer a few weeks ago. It is very powerful tool that allows to spray my entire backyard 0.5 acre on one battery charge. It powerful enough to spray my fruit trees up to the top. I like it. I gave 4 stars because of a heavy weight of the sprayer. Also I have to say that Northern Tool and Equipment store where I bought the sprayer has very good customer service and you can be sure that you can get any help including goods exchange with no questions asked.

I bought this through Amazon/Northern Tool for $100 and have used it several times for different tasks. Comments are as follows:
This is a consumer tool and a good value for the money. If you want higher quality for higher usage, then spend more $200 to $300 and buy a sprayer from Solo, Fimco or Shurflo.
This unit won't work well out of the box, so plan to take it apart before you try to use it. Use a socket to take out the plug inside the tank. Remove the six screws holding the tank to the base. Open it up and you will find the two leads to the battery are really loose and will not stay on. Use your needle-nose pliers to tighten up these connectors. Put it all back together, charge up the battery per instructions and put in a gallon of water. Test your nozzles and loosen them up as they are all too tight to get a good pattern.
Don't even think of backpacking this dude. It weighs about 60 pounds when fully loaded. Go to Lowe's or Home Depot and buy a two wheeled cart and use a bungee cord to fasten the unit on the cart. Cut a piece of two-inch PVC pipe and tape it to the side of the cart to make a holster for the spray gun.

Worked great the first year. I didn't mind the weight (I am old man and the weight should have bothered me but I didn't feel it was that much). What I did mind was that, after cleaning it and storing it for a year, I was unable to get the battery to charge again. I left it plugged into the charger for three full days the indicator light stayed red. (It is supposed to turn green when the battery is fully charged.) I tried running it anyway (in case the indicator light wasn't working), but it did not work. So basically, as far as my experience goes, it is a one year deal. I really liked it for that one year.

used a few times and stored after good cleaning. went to use it a couple months later and motor was seized up. not happy.

I have to say that the 3 times that I used this sprayer it worked very well. However, the forth time I took it out to use it, it was leaking terribly. I opened it up thinking it was a hose and it was the seal on the motor. It was too much trouble to return it between getting a box, packing and having to pay to return it so I am trying a sealer and hope that will work. I was using bleach with it to do driveway and deck but I did rinse it out after each use so not sure why it would have broken the seal. There was no gasket. I don't know. It is a good price and works well but I am afraid it will happen again if I bought another.

THIS IS A GREAT CONCEPT AND WHEN IT WORKS IT WORKS WELL, BUT THIS UNIT IS AWFUL. THE AUTOMATIC PUMP SWITCH FAILED AFTER ONE SEASON, THE PUMP SEIZED AFTER TWO SEASONS. BATTERY CONTACTS CORRODED AFTER ONE SEASON, NOT WORTH THE MONEY OR AGGRAVATION!

The inventor of this sprayer ought to KILL whoever manufactured it! A portable sprayer with decent fluid/battery capacity sounds good, and designing such a thing isn't exactly rocket science. However, bad manufacturing and poor quality control is what I encountered. After properly charging the unit and switching it on, I got NOTHING (except a leak from the bottom of the tank)! Well, either send it back (a pain) or fix it. Taking it apart revealed two things: 1) One of the pump motor lugs was not connected to the battery (an easy fix); 2) The 6 screw assemblies used to attach the fluid tank to the base (which contains the pump & battery) were manufactured such that they pierced the tank! What an INSANE design! OK. Dry out the tank & apply some marine cement to its interior, where the screws pierce the tank. Start all over. Now it works & doesn't leak... but WAIT! The miserable sprayer wand washers don't properly seal... and you get a wretched drip on your hands of whatever nasty stuff is in the tank. I'll use this thing until it dies, but don't buy one unless you want to chance the pains I just described.

The first sprayer that I bought came via UPS and there was a large hole in the box. I opened it up and found broken pieces lying around. I called customer service and they were awesome. UPS came the next morning and picked up my broken unit and they shipped another sprayer before receiving the broken one. I received the second sprayer and I followed the charging instructions and tried to use the sprayer, but it only turned on for a few seconds and then turned off again. I tried charging it again, but the same thing kept happening. I really wanted this battery powered sprayer to work, but it was not meant to be. I called customer service again, and they were very understandable and happy to refund my money (though they aren't refunding my money until they receive the defective sprayer). I don't think I will try to buy another one.

I opened the box and the first item I saw was a red warning note saying that the unit had to be charged before use. So I charged it up for about 24hrs, loaded the tank, and turned it on....nothing happened. I plugged the charger into the unit and turned it on and it worked fine. Since the idea was to operate the unit in cordless mode I returned the unit to Amazon for a full refund.

Purchased it from Harbor Freight.
Very cheaply made, not a high quality product.
But for the money if you treat it right it will serve you well.
Yes, it can get heavy if you fill it with water (4 gallons) plus it has a
pump in the bottom so of course its not going to be as light
as a pump-up.
I use it for my carpet cleaning business and has worked well
for a year.
