This review is from: The Hudson River Guidebook (Paperback)
True to its name, the Hudson River Guidebook literallyguides the reader through the Hudson Region . Water arises from springs in the Adirondacks. The Opalescent River provides one of the highest if not the highest tributary vantagepoints in the region. The book shows the majesty of the Great Falls of the Passaic River at Patterson and Fort Lafayette. The area below the Highlands is picturesque. The work displays the Hasbrouck House which was once the sight of George Washington's famous headquarters. There is a shot of the Vanderbilt Mansion. The beautiful falls of the Mohawk at Cohoes provide a spectacular arial shot. All-in-all the work is informative and picturesque. This is a worthy purchase for a wide constituency of readers. i.e. NYS historians, students, geography buffs, environmentalists and a host of other relevant constituencies of the Hudson region. This book would be a goldmine for any student doing a class project in geography, earth science, the history of NYS or any number of assignments too numerous to list here. |
