5.0 out of 5 stars Following the Trails
This is a wonderful book for anyone interested exploring the Hudson Valley and its history. 2.0 out of 5 stars More like Orange and Rockland tales and trails
Some of the stories were good, but too much emphasis on orange and Rockland. In fact my favorite story, Tom Quick is actualy a Delaware Valley tale. Not a horrible book, but I would only recomend to those interseted in Orange and Rockland county. More for history buffs then hikers.

This is a wonderful book for anyone interested exploring the Hudson Valley and its history. I've been to Claudius Smith's Den and the iron mines of Harriman State Park, walked the towpath of the D&H Canal, climbed the Indian Ladder, explored the wildlife sanctuary at Iona Island, marveled at the amazing art of Opus 40 and enjoyed hiking in Goosepond Mountain and Winding Hills Parks. Until reading this book, I'd never heard of most of these places. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and the adventures it made possible.
