Hudsons Crossing,
This review is from: Hudsons Crossing (Kimani Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
How is love possible when the two people involved live on opposite ends of the country, both with high-powered demanding jobs neither is willing to leave?
After breaking a story involving an inside scandal at one of the nation's top sport's agencies, Riley Stamper never imagined a follow-up meeting with one of the partners of the agency would send her life in a tailspin. Handsome, successful and determined to have her at any cost, Asher Hudson knew from first glance Riley was a woman he wanted to get to know no matter their current living situations. Riley is content to travel from New York to Phoenix when time permits if it means she can spend all her time in the arms of the man who continues to show her what she's been missing outside of news stories, deadlines and another great lead. Asher has the money and the means but what he wants most of all is Riley in Phoenix where he can spend more than just a passing weekend, or a stolen moment or two with her. One cross-country whirlwind relationship and a marriage later, this power couple find themselves at an emotional standstill. Loving each other with a deepness that's scary but emotional baggage from childhood and a long held secret might be too much to bare for a couple with everything to lose. Using a relationship subject I've always wondered about Hudsons Crossing brings to light the issues surrounding long distance relationships and the strain that comes with not living in the same place when the sun goes down. How the lack of personal time can wreck havoc on the ability to participate in a long-term commitment. AlTonya Washington went deep in her portrayal of some of the anguish couples experience while trying to come to terms with what's most important, the love of your life or the career you've sweat blood and tears for? Is there truly room for compromise or will one person in the relationship eventually have to leave behind all they hold near and dear. I really believe readers will enjoy this latest treasure from AlTonya Washington and how she was able to work through Asher and Riley's concerns and still keep them madly in love with each other, even during the worst of times. Hudsons Crossing will only reinforce what her fans already know; she has her finger on the pulse of love. Indy Reviewed for Joyfully Reviewed

Bi-Coastal Loving,
By
This review is from: Hudsons Crossing (Kimani Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
Have you ever been in a long-distance relationship? Then you know how exciting it is in the beginning; jetting off to each other's state of residence, enjoying the special time spent together, looking forward to seeing each other on the next planned trip, and anticipating other modes of communication in between. But how long does it take before jet lag is no longer an option, and seeing the other person where they live is no longer fun? Altonya Washington's Hudson's Crossing just might be the exception to the rule.
When Asher Hudson invited Riley Stamper to Phoenix, to discuss the news article she had written about his lucrative sports agency that could have put him out of business, she was not prepared for her immediate attraction to him. Although Riley stood behind her work and was adamant about not changing a word, it did not stop the sparks from flying and a romance to ensue, with trips between New York and Phoenix in their immediate futures. What was tolerable in the beginning of the relationship became unbearable, especially for Asher. Marrying Riley seemed to be the answer, and Asher believed the nuptials would cause Riley to choose to move `home' with him. The attraction and the sparks remained, but the bi-coastal living put a serious strain on the marriage, and things were said and done that would cause most couples to walk away. Will Riley and Asher decide where home should be, or will they eventually walk away from true love separated by miles, ego and pride? Perhaps they will find the answer that has been lying between them all the time. I enjoyed Hudsons Crossing because of the intense love between the characters, especially Asher, who was determined to have his wife with him at all times. I recommend this book to everyone who loves romance stories with an old-fashioned touch. Review by Sharel E. Gordon-Love APOOO BookClub

A Wonderful Crossing,
This review is from: Hudsons Crossing (Kimani Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
Riley and Ashher had a instant attraction leaving them both wondering if it was love or lust. There were problems along the way as in any marriage but they worked it out and had the loving support and friends and family. Would love a follow up story for Misha and Talib.

I liked Hudson Crossing. Riley and Asher were an adorable couple who embark on a long distance relationship, fall in love and get married. They try to continue to sustain their long distance relationship, but it becomes difficult.
I was hooked from page one, but the story left a lot of unanswered questions. Asher told Justine Duke he would ruin her, if she writes a unsubstantiated story about him and his wife. She writes the story anyway. Misha and Justine are long time rivals and Misha said it was time they were reunited, after the story broke, but we didn't get to find out what happened. Talib and Misha have a past relationship, which broke up over a misunderstanding. Talib decides he's ready to put the past behind them and win her back, but we are left hanging. Misha confides in Riley that the break up with Talib took her down a path she almost didn't recover from, but the conversation was left hanging. I understand this book is part of a new Mother's Day series from Kimani, however I doubt anyone, but Ms. Washington is capable of tying up the under answered questions in this book. I sincerely hope she writes the follow up stories to answer the questions. I hope that Misha and Talib don't become part of one of those multi-author series. The story would lose its continuity and flow, if that were to happen. There really must be a follow up story that only Ms. Washington can write.

Hudson's Crossing is a wonderful read. Two people that have an immediate attraction, then a long distance romance and marriage and baby - what more could happen. There are secrets and mystery and friends that interconnect with a mystery of their own. Will the love they feel for each other make it work? I couldn't put this book down until I found the answers. I loved reading every page and you will too.

OMG! I loved this book so much. The storyline was fantastic. Usually most romance novels revolve around the events leading up to the proposal or marriage of the couple. It was really refreshing to read a story where the couple got married toward the beginning of the book and the details surrounded what the couple went through to stay together. This story was so well written and the development of the characters were incredible. I really enjoyed the secondary characters as well. This was by far one of the best books I have read. Bravo to Ms. Altonya Washington. I would rate this 10 stars if I could!!!! I can't wait to read Misha and Talib's story.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story because it explained Asher and Riley's coming together from beginning to end, and it was over an extended timeframe. The author did a great job of describing the scenes in great detail, and made you feel like you were really there living it with the characters. I can wait to read Talin and Misha's story. Gr8 job.

Will Distance Keep These Two Apart?,

When Riley Stamper is invited by Asher Hudson to discuss an article she has written about his sports agency, she is not prepared for the request he makes of her. Asher's claim is that the article nearly cost him the reputation of his business, but Riley's stance is firm--she is not apologizing for publishing an article backed up by thorough research done on her part. In light of the serious matter at hand, the attraction sizzles in the air between them. The powerful pull leads them to endure a long distance relationship which tests their patience and their love. Asher wants Riley to move to Phoenix with him permanently. It would seem that marriage is the solution, but both have careers they've worked so hard for and so the stress of living apart takes a toll on this ambitious couple. Will the emotional baggage and past secrets get the best of them before they get their priorities in order?
I really enjoyed this sweet romance from Ms. Washington. The characters were very realistic. There was even a subplot that delved into the love lives of the secondary characters. I would recommend HUDSONS CROSSING to anyone who appreciates a love story where the couple must truly face roadblocks and make life-changing decisions to achieve their happily ever after. Great Book..Eager for Misha & Talib Continuation!,
This review is from: Hudsons Crossing (Kimani Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
This was a great read Ms. Washington has outdone herself! Asher and Riley meet & Riley sees that Asher isnt the snob she thought he would be. The instant attraction begins and soon they are married living in Phoenix & NY. Asher & Riley take you through the rough obstacles and compromises of marriage. This book proves that marriage isnt perfect, you have to work at it. However, Ms.Washington left us hanging off a cliff with Misha & Talib. I found myself finding Talib attractive the way he was described. I am dieing to see what happens between the two!
