The Huffy 88300 ExactaHeight Adjustable Pole System provides everything you need to create a basketball haven in your backyard. It features a three-piece, 3.5-inch round pole with a durable, powder-coated finish. The ExactaHeight adjustable board system features exact height adjustment from 7.5 feet to 10 feet in 6-inch increments, enabling you to raise or lower the backboard to age-appropriate height so everyone can play. It also includes a ground sleeve for easy assembly and removal and all the necessary hardware for easy installation. It accommodates all Huffy backboards and is backed by a 5-year limited warranty.

In-ground systems tend to be more rigid and take up less space than portable systems. Concrete is required for an in-ground system installation, and due to the time required for the concrete to dry, the installation of an in-ground system will take longer than a portable system.

I had hoped for an entire system, including a base. It wasn't clear in the description whether or not there was a base, so I took a chance and bought it. No base. Sent it back.

I did not realize that the actual pole was in 3 separate pieces. Although the instructions looked simple, they actually were quite confusing. There are a lot of pieces to this. But the final result is good. I am pleased with how it operates and its durability so far.

First, Amazon's picture for this product is terribly misleading, since it does NOT include a backboard!

Second, the directions are very poorly written. Huffy/Spalding claim this pole will work with any of their backboards, but it's up to you to guess how to put it together. I bought a 44" SlamJam backboard by Spalding, and none of the instructions for the backboard or pole seemed to jive. Worse, the closest approximation had no numbered diagrams. Customer service, while friendly, was of no help whatsoever.

If you enjoy wasting your time trying to interpret directions, this is the perfect gift.
