Very Good Bike.,

I got this bike about 4 months ago when it wasn't even out on the market yet. It was a substitute for an older model that I ordered that wasn't available any longer. I have to say that not only was it easy on the eyes, but also easy to assemble and easy to ride. The gear shifting system was a little off, but it wasn't anything a little tweaking couldn't handle. I found the handle bar shifting a little difficult because I was so accustomed to thumb shifting, but it was nothing I couldn't get used to. It's a smooth ride and the brakes are very responsive. I could do without the seat because it's really narrow. Overall the bike is great. It's got a real cool modern look,it rides smooth and the suspension keeps the ride smooth for those nasty bumps here and there. My only gripe with it is the seat, but that can always be replaced.

This bike shouldn't be listed as a mens bike. I read another review where someone purchased it for their child, and that is a more appropriate use of this piece of equipment. It's somewhat heavy for a bike (it claims 45 lbs, I think it's even greater). Other than that , the only other problem is that when it arrived, the box was in shambles. The rear reflector was missing, and the rights hand grip was chewed up. But hey, you get what you pay for.

First off, the shipping was great. i ordered the 2day shipping late Saturday night, and the bike was delivered 7-1-08, a day a head of schedule.
the bike is nice, cool design, both shocks seem to give a really nice and comfortable ride. the front brake is a disk break setup. not sure how much i like that, it has to be lined up perfected to not get any rubbing. great bike for the price, much nicer build and feature than other in price rang.

I've had this bike for about a month now and I'm pretty happy with it. I was borrowing a friend's 17" Iron Horse, which was too big for me but gave me an idea of what I wanted. I was happy to find this bike at a local Toys R Us, I needed a smaller sized bike since I'm 5'3" and this bike is the right size for me - I'd say the frame is about 15".
I couldn't believe what bargain this bike was: It features 21 speeds, the grips and handling are very good, and I've taken it on many light-to-moderate trails and thoroughly enjoy the full suspension. It shifts without a problem and I feel very comfortable on it. I've looked at other full-suspension bikes in this price range and every single one of them was kind of cheesy. This was the only one, as an adult, that I felt confident enough to try out on some trails. The bike took about an hour to assemble with a friend. I would suggest having someone with experience set it up for you unless you know how to do it. It took us a couple of tries to get the gears set up right, but the setup, including adjusting the brakes, was fairly simple. (Note: The bike I bought at Toys R Us did not come with a front disk brake, it has the regular type brakes. The front wheel IS set up to accomodate a disk break though, if I decide to upgrade. And also please note, the front wheel does not pop off like it can on some bikes.) The seat is very hard and narrow, I've replaced it with a foam sports seat and I'm happy with the result. The frame design does not make it easy to add a bottle holder or a pump. Instead, I'm using a clip-on cup holder on the tope handlebar with a bungee cord to hold my bottle and that works fine. The steel frame is a bit on the heavy side; I'm keeping it in a basement and it's tough to get up and down the stairs and to pick it up. However, when I'm riding I rarely notice the weight at all. This bike has been holding its own, I've had it on dirt, gravel, sand, pavement, it handles great and I have no trouble keeping up a good pace with it. Honestly, for the money, this was a great bike for me to begin with. It features a lot of great things, including the full suspension, that is difficult to find on a woman's mountain bike in this price range.

Chain broken in two days,

At first look after received the bike I was impressed. The front wheel disk brake is a plus and the overall build is very solid.
However, on the third day the chain broke after I fixed the second derail problem. I believe the problem is on its gear shifting design. I should choose Shimano only. Anyway, I'd returned the bike, fortunately I hadn't throught away the packing.

my son's old bike kept getting flat tires since we moved into the county on a crushed granite gravel road and was having other issues so I bought this one for him; It went toghether pretty easy (he and I put it together in half an hour) although you must provide the tools (I had to buy an Allen wrench to tighten the handle bars which is why I gave the bike a 4 instead of a 5 - would have liked them to provide the tool). Once together my son says it rides far better than his last bike which was twice the cost

I hate this bike!!!,

I got this bike for College because I didn't want to have to pay for gas. Two months after school started the peddle striped out were it screws into the crank. That was the biggest thing. The other was it was so hard to ride. I was just riding in town and I hated riding up even the smallest hills with the bike. I still have the bike but the only way that it is rideable is if I stick more money into it and buy a crank.

I will begin with some positives.
The bike was fairly easy to assemble. Note, you will at least need an adjustable pliers and an Allan key to do the job. It was not spit into too many small pieces. The front wheel to the frame, handle to the frame, easy to screw in foot pedals and seat pole into frame Once completed it is very easy on the eyes. It is one of the best looking bikes I've seen. I love the colours and huffy stickers. Comfy ride, gears worked well. Some negatives now. If you are over 6' tall be prepared to change the seat pole as it is way too short. I'm 6'5" and needed one at least 6 inches longer than the original. My rear tire's tube came with a hole. Had to purchase a new one. I preferred to by a new one than risk trying to patch it up and doing a poor job. The front brake is a disk like something. I've never seen a braking system like than before. Not sure whether it's good or bad yet. The brakes needed some tweaking to stop them from rubbing. You will need an Allan key and at least a small pliers. Wished they at least sent the Allan key with the bike. All in all, so far I think it is a good buy.

cycling dude tells you the truth,

Crappy aluminum with crappy components; a bike made for failure... anyone who would buy such an inexpensive bicycle is putting his or her life at risk and wasting their money on an inferior machine.
if you do decide to buy it, don't expect quality or durability. |
