Worth the Money,

This review is from: Huffy Synapse Men's Mountain Bike (Sports)
At the time i was shopping for a bike with either front or back suspension between $50-$70 dollars... not thinking i would find anything but maybe a cheap off brand bike i spotted this bike on Amazon... at the time it was $69.99 and i thought it was a great bargain..under circumstances too deep to get into i couldnt buy the bike the night i saw it but was able to the next day... to only find out that within less than 20 hours the price had risen to $99.99..not happy about it i decided to wait the 5 days left on the free shipping offer to see if it would hopefully go back down... it didnt... even though the price had risen the bike still looked like a good bargain from the orgignal $150.00 selling price..so with no choice i decided to buy it... money wasnt the biggest issue but when i decide on something i make it a point to stick with it... this bike looked too nice to not bend my rules
Amazon actually sent this bike ALOT quicker than i expected.. in 5 days.. and this was with the free shipping... never having bought a bike online i wasnt sure exactly what i would have to assemble when it got here.. ive had 2 other bikes before this one but never had to do anything more than put air in the tires and adjust the handle bars... opening the box it looked a lil intimdating but once i got the bike out it pretty much required nothing more than screwing on the front tire.. handle bars.. seat and pedals.. all which took nothing more than some turns from a wrench and screw driver.. pedals just turn by hand the first day i took the bike out and locked it to a pole i got an instant comment "NICE bike!...beautiful" trust me the picture shown does it no justice.. the real thing looks way better... ive only riden it twice and tried a couple gears so i havent even tested the speed or handling completley but the gears i have tried are pretty quick (i expect it only gets better) with VERY smooth gear changing .. the front suspension is a blessing going over bumps and the bike is VERY light for a bike with suspension.. lighter than both bikes ive had in the past.. and the bike stops on a dime... in the end i thought as i rode the bike " this bike is worth the 100 i spent for it".. at ANY price this bike is worth its weight 'in aluminium'

I bought this bike about 3 weeks ago and love it! It was easy to assemble and with the help of a knowledgable friend, was able to fine tune it to perfection. The bike rides like a dream, is comfy, and the free lock it came with makes it easy to keep safe. It also looks really great - it definately sticks out against all the other bikes at Uni ;)

Great bike -- and inexpensive too!,

Don't listen to the people that say it is difficult to assemble. I put it together in a few minutes! very easy assembly! Sure, you need a few tools, but what do you want? Please! don't gripe over nonsense. If you wanted the easy way out - go to a bike shop and buy one assembled.
I purchased this bike as part of the friday sale for 69.99 + free shipping. I didn't expect a 500.00 bike -- it is excellent for the money spent and will serve it's purpose. If this goes on for the friday sale again, I will be purchasing another for another family member! Thanks!

Annoying to assemble,

I got this bike in the mail the other day, hoping it'd be easy to assemble. While it's true that there are not many pieces to put together, the instructions are basically nonexistent, and you'll need a number of tools (wrench, Phillips-head screwdriver, and some oddly-shaped allen wrenches -- luckily one of my friends had all of these).
I've had a bit of trouble with the brakes and gearshifter -- by default they didn't seem to be tightened the appropriate amount, and shifting gears sometimes doesn't work (e.g. You can't go from 2 to 3 on the front set of gears, most of the time). I'm pretty sure that these problems will go away with a tiny bit of work, but just don't expect this to work out-of-the-box right away.

the bike is great!! the only thing you need to do is to adjust its settings at a local bike shop because when you purchase it it is half-assembled . Once you do this the bike runs really nicely.

Poorly Packaged,

The box my bike arrived in had been completely ripped in half and then taped back together. Parts of the bike were sticking out through holes in the box. The frame of the bike had cosmetic damage from being abused during shipping. However, all of the parts seemed to have made it.
Assembly of the bike is not difficult, but the instructions are poorly written. I am having no luck calibrating the brakes, so I will need a bike shop to do that for me. The quality of the bike itself seems good for the cost.

I would rather push my bike than ride a Huffy,

Please examine the bottom bracket on a Huffy after a year and a half. You won't be able to keep the crank straight as you pedal. The rear stays are usually spot welded. Huffy traditionaly builds disposible bikes.
